2nd . Had a Windmachine but it died. I prefer the metal style as its easier to clean. Yes, it makes a loud hum on start up. It goes away. I dont even notice it running unless I pay attention. It keeps my apt cool so I can delay air conditioning for quite a while. It is a high velocity fan, not a box fan. I have it angled at the ceiling/wall so it circulates.
I bought this to help my dogs dry after a bath but after turning it on, it quickly was put on my front porch. It was strong enough to push air from 40 feet away. I love it and it seems to be of very high quality. I know it was expensive but Im thinking it is going to be worth it.
Originally bought this because we were having a birthday get together for my partner and we wanted to put it outside since it gets very hot where we live. Weve been using it ever since! We take it with us to whichever room we go to because it does such a good job of cooling the room down. I will admit its very loud but we got used to it and dont mind it if that meant it was going to keep us cooled down in the summer time! We want to get another one! I recommend! Its a decent price for a very good fan!

We mounted it on the wall. It can easily be removed for floor use. It can be a bit loud but it should be expected with the volume of air that it moves
