This is the worst purchase Ive ever made through . First, it was delivered a week after I ordered it (despite prime shipping)/ but that was fine, my husband and I had planned to assemble it while our two boys were at nanas for the weekend. They knew they were getting bunk beds and they were so excited.
So after we dropped the kids off, my husband and I removed all the pieces from the box and carried them upstairs individually, since the box was so heavy. We then discarded the box (dont do that if you buy this/ youll need it for the return). So we make some jokes about the hex key that they give you to assemble it/ seriously/ and how the instructions say not to use power tools. And then we started to attempt the assembly. And it doesnt fit together. The holes dont line up, there is no way to bend things to make them work.
I did read reviews before I bought this, but apparently I skimmed over the few that mentioned similar issues. And honestly I probably thought that the people that couldnt assemble it werent reading the instructions correctly or something. Which is also what I thought at first when we couldnt fit it together/ but no, we were. You get what you pay for, I guess. And now I have two little boys sleeping in my bed while we wait for their new bunk beds to be delivered from a local store.
I do have to mention that customer service was great, set up UPS pick up, I didnt have to do anything except repackage it and get it outside, and they processed my refund as soon as it was picked up. But as I said, if you buy this, just dont discard the box.
Item was as dexcribed. Fast delivery. Easier to assemble if extra hand is available. Enough space on lower bed to not hit your head. Will recommend to friends.
I was disappointed with the quality. It has too many pieces to assemble; more areas that something can break or go wrong. I bought this kind of bunk bed before, (for my kids, about 25 years ago), so I thought it would be great to do the same for my granddaughter. When I got the box delivered, (a much smaller box; about have the size), I knew I was not getting the same thing. I was going return it but after going around to other stores, I found out that all bunk beds, (like this one), come in the same small box. I get ita smaller box allows the manufacturer to ship more in a container. I wish that more parts were welded on the bed; instead of using a bunch of plastic clips and screws. I hope this one last as long as my other two lasted.
the ladder is tiny and right up against the wall very hard to get up and down for a bigger child like my pre teen granddaughter. also a giant ugly safety sticker is on the top rail it cant be removed without leaving a mess, it was missing a few small pieces but we improvised while putting it together. Its sturdy and an ok purchase but not a 5 because mostly the ladder, we will make a bigger one that has an angle to it and not up against the wall
Within 2 weeks, the hinge mechanism which is the load bearing part of the lower bed / couch, was not strong enough to handle normal every day use. Each side (right and left) bent outward so when open, the bed was not flat but in a V shape. Calls and e/ mails to the Manufacturer go unanswered.
It reads it is rated for up to 600 lbs. The most weight on it was my two children which is a combined weight of 220 lbs.
My boys love their new bunk bed. Spacious. My 5 year old is like a spider monkey in, on, AND around his tree. And the bed stands strong I like that it allows more light to enter their room because of less wood taking up space on the floor. And it wasnt hard to put together. Me alone( small housewife), 4 1/2 hours. My boys put all the hooks on at the end.
Its cheap, so dont expect this frame to be revolutionary. It got the job done, though. Only used it for a couple weeks before the need for it left my life, but during those couple weeks it was a decent frame. I slept on the bottom bunk and was fine for me, but my bunk/ee said that the top swayed a lot, even with minimal movement on my part. We also didnt use the ladders included with the set only because of space limitations.

poor quality control
The bed was manufactured wrong and I cant complete assembly. The part is backordered so really cant comment on the bed since I cant put it together
