This is a very nice chair to sit in and it does recline.
Advice upon delivery: The box the chair comes in is quite bulky and you need 2 persons to carry it.
Assembly: There is an Allen Wrench provided for assembling the chair. I also would recommend you have a 2nd person to help assemble some of the parts. (Especially the cushions and mounting onto the Gas Cylinder.)
Overall I do recommend this chair if you have a fairly large room with a desk in it. I use it in my computer room.
Though clearly not made in the US, this chair is extremely comfortable. At 5 10, it provides an excellent position for lounging when you slouch in it during casual conversation and the such. The materials are good quality, though they attempted to create the illusion of spotty leather by changing the color randomly, and slightly missed the mark.
The lumbar adjustment is fairly low, though the other two adjustments (tilt and tension) are fine.
Hopefully it will hold up over time, though I have no doubts that it will. Nice chair, cant beat the price.
Pros:
Lumbar Support.
Good Arm Support.
Very Sturdy.
Comfortable Seat For Hours.
Classy Look and Feel.
Good Wheel Movement.
Great Price.
Cons:
It wouldnt be bad if it went up another few inches, but thats not really a con.
Arrived in two days - exceptional! Box was damaged on one corner, but all the pieces/parts arrived intact no worse for wear and tear. Ive had another chair like this recently that wasnt half as comfortable or good looking (so much so that I gave it away to the first taker), so Im quite impressed with the design, materials, and workmanship out of the box. A word of warning on the assembly. The arms are integral to the stability of the chair, especially when reclining. Because of tension between between the chair back and the chair seat during assembly (the arms go on last), the arm retaining screws are somewhat hard to line up with their inserts and easily cross threaded or stripped. Take care to prevent that, because firmly secured arms are required to safely use a chair like this.
Other than that, great chair. Its very comfortable right out of the box, and thats something you can usually judge immediately. Great deal for $300 so far.
I didnt purchase this through , but I do own it
The construction quality of this sub $300 leather office chair is better than any other chair Ive purchased in the last 10 years. Normally Ive bought the Office Depot $150-$200. The accents are wood instead of composite, and the base is heavy duty with both metal and wood construction.
This feels significantly more solid than chairs in the lower price range. The back connects to the seat via two methods: a steel L-plate, and bolts that secure the arms to the back and seat cushion via bolts. The recline degree is less than Id like, but this makes up for it.
There is also an adjustable lumbar setting, I havent made use of that yet.
I prefer the seating configuration of the chair Im replacing over this one. It reclined farther, and the quality of the leather was nicer than this one. That said, I had to purchase a chair with a higher weight rating, in the hopes that it will hold up better for the different sizes of people that frequent the chair besides myself. My last one didnt last two years, and the seat cushion was flat within a year.
Im expecting this one to hold up a bit better. Well see.
I am 65 and 280lbs and this is the best office chair I have ever had. Its comfortable and adjusts to a higher level than any chair I have had in the past. Great Value!!
I bought this chair to replace my last office chair in which the tilt mechanism gave out after 14 years. I was a little hesitant at first since I saw two reviews that stated this wasnt actually a product but made by another company called True Innovations. After some research, I found out that True Innovations is a company. []
So I ordered the chair. It took me about 45 minutes to put it together. The packaging was great and there was no damage in shipment. The footprint of the chair is slightly smaller than my old office chair, but it is just as sturdy if not more so. The tilt mechanism allows one to sit up right, lean back to about a 60 degree angle, or lock in in place anywhere in between. Fully tilted back with the chair at the lowest setting, my feet lightly touch the floor (Im 5ft 11in).
The padding in the chair is firm but comfortable and provides support for hours of sitting. I spend many hours at a computer, so how the chair feels is an important aspect for me. The only thing that disappointed me was the lumbar support. While the support provided is already great, I cant tell any difference when using the lumbar adjustment knob.
For the price I paid ($279), this chair is a great bargain. It is very well constructed, comfortable, and appears it will provide many years of good service.
