Weve been using this for about five months now, our girls love it! its plenty sturdy and super cute. The side rail on the top bunk barely goes above the mattress if you use a full size mattress so watch for that, but no one has fallen for that reason yet. The drawers are nice and big underneath. They dont have guide rails so sometimes they get crooked and my 5 year old cant open or close them, but its easy to fix with one hand for an adult. The instructions were kind of low quality but we were able to figure everything out just fine and changed the order a big as sometimes the order didnt make sense. These were a great value for the price, maybe not 100% perfect, but Id have to spend another 1,000 to get something that is, so this was great!
This is a fantastic, rock solid and beautiful bunk bed. I am a very thorough researcher and spent a solid two weeks searching for relatively affordable bunk beds. Reasons we chose the Columbia: 1) not pine like almost every bed in this price range. It is sustainable rubber wood which is much much harder; 2) solid fit and finish. This baby feels rock solid, no wobbles at all when even I (200 lb. guy) climb up to the top bunk; 3) high weight capacity; 4) beautiful looks. The pics dont do this bed justice. Much clearer natural finish on actual product.
Other things: assembly was pretty straight forward. Although probably not recommended, I was able to assemble without any help. Contrary to the instructions, I assembled the bottom bunk first, then assembled the top bunk in place. The drawers are also very nice and solid. Also, watch the price, as it does fluctuate. In short, this is a high quality bunk bed that will last a long time.
When searching for bunk beds we were looking for something solid! These bunks are perfect. Theyre a good hardwood and very sturdy. Its worth the extra couple hundred to purchase this set. You can also this set without the draws, but we got the drawers because for an extra hundred you cant go wrong. The two drawers are huge! The do not have tracks, the roll freely which to me is a bonus because drawers on tracks always seem to break. These bunks were also extremely easy to put together. We had them up in an hour with little effort!
Pleasantly surprised by the quality for the bunk bed. I was concerned about how the drawers would slide when on carpet, but the wheels are good, and there is no problems sliding them in and out. Will be great in my sons room! It was delivered missing one of the boxes. It ended up being the shipping company (Fex Ex freight) who lost it. It was delivered a couple weeks later.
