Absolutely Solid Sturdy Beautifully Natural Bed Frame

I recently purchased this natural poplar wood bed frame, which came all the from across the US to me here in Seattle. It is very smooth poplar wood, nice feel to it. I noticed some of the pieces had natural marble like hues in the wood, so beautiful. This bed frame was easy to put together, my friend help do most of the work, it took him about 40 minutes non stop, didnt even need a power drill, the nails went smoothly into the holes, once everything was lined up. I wish I would have videoed the process and got a picture before my new mattress and bedding was put on but I forgot, I was so excited to try it out. And it is so comfortable to sleep on with my new mattress. I am a heavy woman, and this bed stays right in place, along with my new firm mattress, it is wonderful for my back problems. I am so glad I came across this unique bed frame, it is quite lovely. The producer did a wonderful job. I would definitely recommend this bed frame to other people, for a sturdy and attractive choice.

    Beautiful wood

Assembly wasnt too difficult, it would have been an easier build with a second person. There were a few moderate size dents caused by the strapping on the packaging. Otherwise it met all my expectations. Very good Not Perfect

    Solid, Customizable

I love the solid, sensible construction of this bed frame. My better half was not thrilled with the country-casual look of the unfinished poplar though. She also felt the unfinished wood was insufficiently cat and kid proof. Bare wood does soak up stains and felt tip pen marks and such, and cats do like to sink their claws into it. Jetta, our senior product tester is shown checking out her latest accomodation in the photo. She loves to sharpen her claws on bare wood, but once its varnished, she is uninterested. I was able to convince the lady of the house that with some dark walnut stain and a coat of good floor varnish, we could banish the country look in favor of a more finished faux walnut furniture appearance and make the result pretty attack resistant. She was convinced. We did the deed and shes pretty pleased as are the friends whove checked it out. It aint walnut, but its pretty OK. As to finishing it, stain and urethane the individual pieces. Dont try to do it after assembly. Watch out for the end grain that shows. Some of it needs to be sanded smooth. (Tops of the four uprights especially) Check how pieces fit together. Theyve beveled the edges of a lot of the pieces. This makes a lot of end-grain show. You need to make sure it gets stained. (On the ends of the slats of the headboard for instance.) For a dark stain I dont see any need for filler except on the end grain. I didnt bother filling the small areas of end grain that show in the joints. As a result they came out very dark. I dont think the affect is bad though. I used Behr dark walnut oil baed stain and it worked very well. Apply it liberally, give it a few minutes, wipe it pretty free of excess and come back about half an hour later and really rub it out with clean paper towels until the lighter grain areas pop. Dont rub against the grain. It can leave fibers embedded in the wood. Dont leave any excess anywhere, even where it wont show. It can take days to dry where its as thick as a coat of paint. Wait 24 hours before varnishing. I used Minwax oil modified urethane varnish. This stuff is used for basketball courts and the like. Its tough, but it does have a yellowish tinge which makes it unsuitable for use on really light shades of wood. Its no problem on a dark finish though. I ended up satisfied with one fairly heavy coat. This is not the recommended approach and it wont give a really slick, smooth finish, but hey, this is not the kind of furniture that benfits much from that sort of effort. To get it to a point where it would benefit would take many hours of sanding and detailing. Stay away from glossy varnishes. A satin works best. I most definitely love it

    Excellent bed that is A!

This bed is perfect. 1. It is solid wood. 2. It is SUPER easy to assemble. 3. It is A. The only draw back to the queen bed is that it does not come with a center support. You can order that directly from the company. Actually you can order the entire bed directly from the company and it is cheaper as opposed to going through . After buying this, I bought several twin beds with trundles directly through the company for rental properties that I have. I cannot say enough good things about this company and the quality.

    Love this Bed

Wonderful solid wood bed, easy to put together, very nice modern minimalist look. I got 2 twins and made a king, much easier to move around to use as 2 twins or king, mattresses fit perfectly. Also much easier to change seets. Easy to assemble and look amazing.

A good buy and a sturdy bed

I bought a metal bed on that got mixed reviews before buying this bed. The metal bed was cute and sturdy at first but eventually it started to get squeaky and the legs were bending (I noticed after replacing with this bed). Please save yourself some time and get a wood bed. So much more sturdy and no noise when moving around. Metal beds always seem to have a time limit, even with extra legs. I have a full size bed, fits perfectly with my mattress. I found the headboard a pain to connect since its hard to get the pegs to align, I recommend two people to do this. It doesnt have legs in the middle of the bed leaving more space to store item underneath. I was able to build the rest of the bed myself with the boxes I had under my bed. After assembling the edges together I added raisers to the legs (3 inches) that you can also buy on (slip stick is the brand). The bed is too low otherwise and my boxes would not fit underneath. I only found good reviews about this bed which is so rare to find on . There were enough for me to believe it wasnt mainly workers who wrote reviews. Overall happy I spent the money on a sturdy wood bed that should hopefully last me a long time! Thanks to this Georgia company!

    Salute to American manufacturing

I spent 1 week, endlessly, looking for an American made product. Yes, there are hundreds if not thonds of beds on . But can you believe, just a couple were A! Now a month later, and Im happy to say that Im pleased with my choice. The frame is lovely, the construction and manufacturing is superb and the self installation along with the online video made setting up the unit a breeze. Solid, excellent look and feel. Its good to buy American made products, and Ive sent this message out to all my friends here in California. Spread the word, there are still goods A. I know, not everything is made here. I get it, but when you have the chance, why not buy American made simple goods .
