I bought this bed for my 3-year-old son, as his first big boy bed. I was able to put it together myself without difficulty. It's a good sturdy construction (for what it's made of. This is not solid wood we're talking about here), and the finish looks great. I only have two qualms about this bed, and they're minor. First, the bed is, all around, just a smidgen bigger than a standard twin mattress, so you have to think about that when deciding what linens to choose. Second, the drawers are not on rollers. It's just a plastic slider piece mounted into a slot in the wood, so it has the tendency to stick a little, particularly in humid weather. However, I have found that a little olive oil does help this problem somewhat. I would still recommend this bed for anyone looking for a good, sturdy, inexpensive child's bed.
I found the directions quite easy to understand, the diagrams could not have been more discriptive. My husband and I took about an hour and a half to put together, each piece fit exactly and I did not end up with any extra pieces..lol
Both Grandsons love their beds and they fit nicely in there new rooms. Now I did not expect top quality for the price as it is pressed wood, but for the price it was worth it. Would buy again if needed to.
I love this bed (and more importantly my 3 year old is jazzed.) It's so cute and fairly easy to put together (well, my fiance did it...but I didn't hear a lot of cursing, so I assume it wasn't horrible!)
The only thing I'd warn buyers about is that the handles on the drawers angle out and are pretty sharp. I nailed my shin on one of them when I wasn't paying attention.
Overall though, this was a great choice and quality purchase. I'd definitely recommend it and buy it again if I needed another.
We bought this for our 19 month old son who outgrew his mini crib. It took some time to put together but it was very straight forward and everything was labeled so it made it very easy. The who thing is pretty much pressboard so you won't want to get it wet for any prolonged period of time but given the price it is really well worth the purchase. It feels very sturdy and even came with felt feet to keep it from scratching our hardwood floor. That is rare to find these days and I usually buy felt for funriture to protect our floors, so a nice and appreciated touch that they included it.
got this bed for my 5 year old...he loves the drawers where he stores his board games...looks contemporary just like I wanted...the finishing could be a little bit better but at this price I shouldn't expect more!!...I ended up ordering the side table....waiting for delivery
You might be better off if you can go purchase this great little bed in person. Fed Ex decided to leave my package in the snow and mud on my neighbor's property, out in the open. Shame on them and I will not shop with an online merchant that uses Fed Ex again.
We bought this bed for our 3 year old daughter, it is great because it sits lower to the ground for her to get on and off easily. The shipping was fast and there was no damage at all. I agree with other posters about the sharp drawer pulls, but I replaced them with pink rounded ones, I had to put 2 on each drawer because the holes are too close together for a standard pull, but it ended up giving it a cute look! overall I am happy with my purchase, the price was great and with free shipping you can't go wrong.
I ordered two of these beds for my sons (ages 4 and 15) and I am happy with them. They were very easy to put together. The color is very dark--almost black which works great for the decor in my boys room. You actually don't even see much of the bed at all if you don't tuck in the comforter. The beds look nice, but I'm wondering how they will stand the test of time...FYI: the quality is OK, and pretty much consistent with any less-expensive, put-it-together-yourself furniture, but the drawer bottoms are on the flimsy side. They are fine for clothes, but I wouldn't put anything too heavy in them (lots of books, etc.). The dowels are made of plastic, not wood, and so are the drawer guides. Also, the boards that the mattress sits on top of are questionable...They seem a bit flimsy as well. I think they will be just fine for sleeping on, but if you have a child who likes to jump on beds, or tends to be on the destructive side, I'm not sure I would recommend this product. I also wouldn't recommend this product for an adult who is very large because I'm not sure the bed would hold up.
UPDATE: It has been almost 3 years now, and these beds are still going strong. We haven't had an ounce of trouble with them. They've even survived 2 moves (one of which was an 800 mile move). The only con we've had: The drawer handles are made out of metal, and they are square. It doesn't feel good when you accidentally hit your leg on them! Either find different handles or don't put them on at all. Other than this, these beds have been fantastic. Again...probably not great for a heavy person, or wild child!
This bed goes great with my son's furniture. Looks like we bought the pieces together. However, the amout of pieces that it comes in is a little much. This is NOT a simple project. I would say there was about 40 pieces or so. Once it was put together I was very pleased. The drawers slide easily and can hold quite a bit. I was also able to still fit my son's bed rails on. The only thing that I will be replacing at some point is the drawer knobs. They are very sharp on the edges and I have scratched myself a couple of times already. Overall it was a very well made nice looking bed.

Great buy
I'm a graduate student. Got this bed for my new apartment and love it! Great low price for a nice-looking sturdy item. Love it!!

Great bed for a mild child or small adult.
