Bought this as an early Christmas present for my 11yr old. She has always wanted a bunk bed but we are very limited in space. The shelves serve more as a catch all (she has far too many books for it). The desk is used all day, everyday. While I would lovee to have her push it in when its not in use, it doesnt seem to ever not be used lol. The drawers could be a bit larger. She doesnt have many clothes but the ones she wears dont all fit. At 11yrs the ladder seems to be more of a recommendation than a requirement. She is lanky as all get out and uses one rung just to get high enough to over the banister. She keeps a tent on it as well so the banister cutout is blocked for the most part. How she doesnt break something getting up in the middle of the night, Ill never know. The underside serves as a wonderful storage area for her tubs of art supplies too. Overall, shes incredibly pleased with this purchase!
So far it is sturdy but a little creaky. Only had for few months so we will see the wear and tear not too difficult to assemble. The only thing is the color is more brown than espresso.
Easy to assemble ladders could be mounted on either side or corner just have to know the location of the side rails ladder holes so you could assemble as needed! kes when my 17 year old son goes up and moves around. Ladder was slippery so I had to add non slip tape from Home Depot located in the paint department. Adds square footage to the bedroom!
Overall a great bed!!!frame! Metal ladder sucks climbing barefoot, and even tried gluing foam pool noodles over the rungs, but they rip in half after a few days. Might try making my own en rungs to replace the metal ones.
Our granddaughter lovees this bed. She hasnt left her room since it was put together today. They added lights to dress it up. I am very pleased with the purchase.
It did take me all day to put it together because there are so many pieces but it all worked out and is a very nice bed!!!. The only thing do far that isnt great are the knobs on the dresser - theyve already come off but thats an easy fix by going to Lowes and getting some new ones.
last update. The third bed was perfect, had no scratches or dings. Would buy all three again!
update, as I bought 3 beds and have only seen two so far.. the first bed review is below.. I just opened the 2nd bed (white) and unfortunately the desk part had a Crack in the bottom corner, despite being surrounded by Styrofoam. I am wondering if it was damaged before packed because the Styrofoam was not damaged. If so,, that is very annoying.
Original review for bed 1 Overall the bed is very nice, way more sturdy than I anticipated. The box arrived incredibly damaged and I thought for sure I would be left with damaged pieces. Not a scratch or dent, packaging was well done. However, there is very obvious writing on one of the steps and upon closer inspection, you can see the steps were painted over the writing. Very annoying because I upgraded my kids furniture because they were older now and out of the writing-on-every-piece-of-furniture stage. Now it looks defaced but of well, maybe I can put some grip tape there.
I have 2 more of these beds to assemble in my girls room. Im hoping that I have the same result. I read all the reviews beforehand and Im here to say you should buy the bed.
