We looked forever to find a quality reasonably priced loft bed for my daughter. Shipping was super fast and all parts were packed perfectly- no dings or missing parts. The box was extremely heavy and I thought I was in for it, but I only needed help from a second person a few times. I ended up using my drill with an allen wrench attachment (being careful to take it slow as to not crack the ), which made things move along much more quickly. Both my daughters lovee this setup and I wouldnt be surprised if were ordering another one soon! Its an awesome bed and desk. Would give it 6 stars if I could!!
Overall this bed is great quality!!!. The is nice, the finish looks good but my biggest complaint is the hardware finish. If you look at some photos its shown with white screws/bolts however they arent white. All hardware is silver which is stands out when you look at the bed. Very deceiving based how how they have the photos edited.
This bed is fine, seems sturdy and was easy to put together, but Im taking off 2 stars because 1) it said it came with free assembly but when I contacted the manufacturer asking when they were going to assemble it they told me they didnt do that, so false advertising! And 2) it didnt say what age it was for, so going by the size Id hoped it would be ok for my 12 year old. Shes small (weighs 70 lbs) so the bed is fine for her now but it probably wont last her through puberty! Its definitely too small for a fully grown human! Should be ok for the next couple years, though.
Fast shipping, package delivered well, the directions had to be looked up because I got the wrong ones, but once I found them online I was able to easily follow them and complete my project with ease. My daughter lovees it! True to size and quality materials.
First of all, plan the entire day to assemble this. Also, if you bought this because you dont have room for anything bigger, then spend a few minutes thinking about how you will get it all screwed together. Its easiest if you can walk all the way around the outside during assembly, but we were working in tight quarters.
The finished product is too short for an adult or teenager to sit under (on the floor) comfortably.
You might also find it useful to know that it comes in three boxes. The long box (7 feet 2 inches) has the bed parts. The flattest box (it looks like it might contain a really big framed picture) has the desk and the short bookshelf. The most normal of them all contains the dresser. You can assemble the dresser all by itself, without opening the other two boxes. But the other two are related, because the desk cant stand up by itself, and as other reviewers have mentioned, you have to put the desk in before you screw down the bed slats on that side of the bed. Each box weighs 60 or 70 pounds, adding up to about 200 pounds total. The long box needs a pickup truck if you have to drive it home from your shipping address. The other two will fit inside a minivan or station wagon.
Heres the main disappointment: Before assembling the dresser (which we did first), we swept the hard floor to make sure it was clean. But halfway through, we realized that the espresso paint had been scratched in multiple places just by gently sliding pieces across the clean floor. While there were a few pieces with small dings right out of the box (in places that turned out not to be visible when it was assembled), Im pretty sure those scratches werent there when we opened the box. So before doing the rest, we swept and damp-mopped the floor, plus we put down a soft cloth. This worked better, but it still wasnt good enough. The front corner of the desk top ended up with a couple of deep scratches. s seems to market this primarily for little kids, so it was surprising that they used such a fragile paint. Maybe the other colors have a harder finish.
This is a resubmission. My previous review was removed because I added an external url of where I found the instructions. The frame didnt come with instructions and I didnt have the time to wait for an email response of the instructions. If you have time to wait for emailed instructions, please email the company, but if you Google them; you might find them that way also. Maybe you can email them before the frame arrives, so you wont have to worry about it when the frame arrives. Other reviews stated it didnt come with instructions, but I thought that was just for them, so I didnt think I needed to email them. Im not sure if thats normal, but I would email them ahead of the to be safe. Overall bed is pretty sturdy and quiet. Glad I went with instead of metal. I bought this around black Friday for 40%, but would have bought this at the original price if I had to. Cuddling seems okay for adults, but I wouldnt try doing too much with 2 adults on this bed frame. I think weight limit is 330 including the mattress. Put together by myself with maybe 2 hrs. I suggest that you use the included tool for tight spaces/ finishing and an impact drill with correct attachment for everything else because if not; your hands will definitely hurt. Also using the drill is so much faster. I didnt have an issue with ripping apart, but just be careful not to overdue it with the impact drill. Leave room for adjustment by not tightening all the way and only tighten when you for sure have the pieces together correctly. The only real downside was the pieces werent as protected as I had hoped. There was some dings as other reviews stated and my desktop corner was also damaged. Luckily it wasnt too bad. I also wish the steps were an extra 1 or 2 wider. Its not uncomfortable, but I think it would be more comfortable with wider steps.Great buy. Definitely recommend if you need a sturdy twin loft frame that isnt noisy. Also looks aesthetic and neutral.
