The bed came in 2 heavy boxes (90 pounds each). The pieces are solid wood. No particle board or cheap materials. The instructions are horrible. They throw 6 things into the same step and arent very good at all. If you follow the pictures, you can figure it out. The holes dont all align either. But once I got the bed assembles, its very sturdy
The bed itself is very sturdy and looks beautiful.
The only issue I had was with one screw on the top section of the bunk. Im not sure if the hole was drilled slightly crooked or if the screw provided was too long but it did can on of the sides to crack a little. Structural integrity is fine but it is noticeable unless covered up.
Two months into purchase. Kids sleep comfortably and the bed holds steady. Looks good in the room too. No rickety loose links, unstable parts or crumbling mdf.
Takes two people to assemble and a good couple of hours, unless you are a pro.
Bed looks like it might last!
If I could give this less than one star I would!!
The instructions are terrible!! The holes that you are supposed to put the screws in were too small. So when we put the screws in- the wood started to crack! (Twice!!)
When my 12 year old daughter was making the top bed - before even sleeping in it) she was walking up the ladder and and one of the rings broke!
Now… the dreadful bed is put together - so I cannot return it… the ladder is broken… my daughter hasnt slept in it yet… and I am still making payments on the stupid thing!!
Directions are a little confusing and they missed a piece. But it works well and my kids love it. However if you are tall, its a very tight squeeze and its hard to make the beds, but that comes with having a bunk bed. I would suggest getting wood glue and using it at all times. Also when putting in the slacks, do the top one first. Lastly, have another person helping. It will save you time and back pain.
The bunkbed is very sturdy even I went on top of the top bunk. Just make sure to read the instructions carefully.I think the only downside of this bunkbed is that the drawers are not on a track so it moves side to side. Other than that awesome bunkbed!
