They are perhaps made for skinny people not for someone like me with an average tummy and large thighs. Felt cramped sitting in there for about 10 minutes and they are not as sturdy as the real Adirondack chairs (of course they are not as pricey as the original Adirondack chairs). I feel its a compromise to the size versus money.
The instructions provide a diagram of the end result once the chair is properly folded with the holes lined up and the back rest angled properly. The instruction page should provide step by step instructions about how to begin with the folded chair in the box, and then unfold the chair in order to properly install the bolts and have the chair properly positioned. You will need your own 7/16 wrench (not provided with the chair) to assemble it. I bought four chairs and liked that they can be folded. but the folding capability makes the chairs more challenging to assemble. The first chair took me 10 minutes to assemble, the second one took 15 minutes, and the next two chairs took 30 minutes each, and involved a lot of trial and error. With better instructions, each chair should have only required 510 minutes assembly time. I gave sturdiness a 4 out of 5 because the armrests wobble a bit. An extra bolt on each side probably would solve the problem, but unfortunately they would prevent folding the chair.
Overall I like the chair very much. Its roomy and comfortable especially if you add a cushion. My only minor complaint is that a few of the pieces were not flush. Also the slats on the backrest were not even regardless of the screw being placed into the correct predrilled holes. A bit of fudging made them more squarely spaced.
I intend to spraypaint it a nice green color.
The box, when delivered, is smaller than you expect. But the packing of the parts is efficient. One should layout all the parts as per the included inventory. My first chair when together slowly but I was being delibrate to assure it the chair came together as designed. The second chair I had problems with as certain predrilled holes were just not lining up properly. The vendor replaced the chair upon my complaint and the replacement chair came together as expected. (BTW the vendor had me keep the second chair too costly to return I suspect. On my own, I made the necessary adjustments to complete the chair.)
It took my husband a while to assemble but with the right tools its feasible. The chairs look good. They are not super big but they are fine for us. I dont think they will accommodate someone super heavy either but we are both light weight so it works. We stained them to match our deck. Perfect look for the price!

Made for skinny chicken, not for an average American

Very difficult to figure out how to configure the chair in order to properly assemble it

Good addition to my yard!
The product arrived quickly, was easy to assemble, great quality but is a bit smaller than what I expected, but overall very pleased.
A bit offkilter

Lightweight and Foldable
