I would have given 5 stars but the completed set does not look as fitted as the advertised picture: I ordered the full, and the mattress extends higher on the back and juts out farther on the seat than depicted. I assume the picture was of a twin size. Otherwise, totally satisfied with the condition on arrival, and construction directions - took about 3 hours but I took my time. Fine looking piece of furniture and seems comfortable. May be more firm than I would like for sleeping, but its a futon.

With only 6 reviews I was hesitant but I couldnt find a futon couch frame with the 50 reviews I prefer that was well reviewed enough, so I took a chance. This probably rates 4 1/2 stars but doesnt allow partial stars. The only deductions were really just because I would reserve 5 stars for perfect. Only two minor flaws: 1. The pre-drilled holes were not perfectly positioned, so one or two of the screws were difficult to get in, but it was adquate. 2. The queen size, which I got, has legs that hang by screws from the back of the couch. These seem like a poorly designed after thought. You have to not tighten the screws all the way (I imagine theyll start to work loose over time) and when you fold down into a bed you have to position each leg by hand. However the wood is solid, there is no particle board or mdf, and the finish is beautiful. Assembly took about an hour and a half, and was slightly less than moderately complex. I am very happy with this.
This is a beautiful piece of furniture. Its well made and looks great in our living room. Directions could have been a little clearer but was not that hard to put together. The red is a really nice color. Looks just like the picture. Very happy with this purchase.
Bought this for my daughters apartment. Although the look of the futon is great, the comfort is absolutely terrible. In fact there is no comfort. Due to the adjusting convertible of it to lay down flat for a bed is absolutely horrid to try and sleep on. The bars are right in the center parts of the sofa. Complete ripoff if you want to use it to sleep on. Definitely false advertising about the comfort and memory foam. Again if you want it for looks and save space this will work for you but if you need it to sleep on or for guests to sleep on or even just relax dont plan on even coming close to thinking your gonna be as comfortable as the model looks and portrays in the photos.
It was not too hard to assemble. Sometimes we have trouble moving it from the flat position back to a sofa. I held the mattress while my husband worked on the frame. It was easier that way.
