    Beautiful chair

This chair is absolutely beautiful and definitely worth the money. However, we had ordered the last one in stock which, unfortunately, was a mistake. The back of the chair had a rip in the leather and the wood base was all scratched up. We bought wood markers and fixed the base up. The rip is not too big so I can live with it.

The new chair was VERY noisey and annoying / not the hardware

The new chair was VERY noisey and annoying / not the hardware, legs, etc. but the leather. It took quite a while for that to get broken in and quiet down like several months of quieting down. After that, it was a pretty comfortable chair, until the hydraulics failed. For months, I have to raise the chair back up every time I get up, ane within minutes of sitting back down, it feels like Im almost on the floor. I paid more than 225 for it here on about 2 years ago, and would expect it to last much longer than that. Ordering another chair today, not sure which one, but not this one. SMH

A very sturdy, comfortable, and nicely finished big and tall desk chair definitely worth considering.

I thought I had already reviewed this chair, but when I came back to update it, I discovered that I was wrong. I am NOT a small person / Im over 6 tall and weigh a lot more than I should (used to be a competitive weight lifter and never stopped eating . sigh). So at 290lbs I give this chair a good workout. Ive been using it for over 18 months now, and it is holding up beautifully. Yes you can tell that someone sits in it regularly / but then my work day (home office) is typically 07:00/19:00 or later, so thats reasonable. The cushions and frame are in essentially almost new condition, and it has given me no problems. Also it is comfortable enough that I dont find myself looking for other chairs on line . PROs: The height is very adjustable and its on the tall side. My desk has a top at about 34 and the chair matches it whether I want to set up tall OR let the chair down to slide it up under the desk on those rare occasions when Im awake and not sitting in it. The gas cylinder is still working perfectly (Ive had them go out at any age from 9/months up, so Im pleased that it doesnt yet seem to slip at all). The adjustments (height, tilt, lumbar support) are all easy to adjust and stay adjusted once set. My wife actually likes the way it looks (when you have a shared home office, that can be an issue if your partner does NOT like it). The casters (wheels) are very good quality and dont give me problems rolling across the computer room floor which as hardwood, floor protectors, and an oriental carpet with which to contend. (It doesnt like the 1/2 inch jump to get up onto the carpet, but I added a home/made ramp (a short wedge) which lets it get up onto the carpet if I back up far enough to go onto the capet. The finish is holding up nicely. CONs: There arent many to be honest and theyre mostly nit/picking. The lowest height adjustment may be too high for shorter desks (not a problem to me, but it might be for you). (This one is just nit picking .) At this cost, I would like to have three features it doesnt have (but which I think it should). There is no seat front/to/back adjustability. Other bigtall chairs have that feature and I loved it on my previous chair. AND . The angle of the seat relative to the back is not adjustable. Again other bigtall chairs have that feature and I loved it on my previous chair. OTOH that is my previous chair because the mechanism which connects the back to the seat failed. That might be connected to why such features are not available on this chair. The third missing feature is the tilt of the back of the chair. When Im on a really pointless, never/ending a la Dilbert than the PHB meeting, I used to recline my old chairs back and relax for the duration of the pointless jabber. This chair doesnt tilt that far back and I miss the capability. As I said above, this item is just nit/picking and probably wont apply to you. I would definitely recommend this chair to anyone over 6 tall and/or over 250 lbs. My brother (65) finds it quite comforable and hes right at its weight limit / and the chair doesnt seem to mind (complain/fail/run screaming form the room) when he sits in it. FWIW Id also buy it again. As I said, definitely recommended T

    Great Chair

I got this as a replacement for another chair that just didnt work. Its comfortable! My back doesnt hurt after I set in it for half an hour. It also costs less than the chair it replaced. I am very happy.

When everything is tightened it is quite a sturdy beast. The chair has a pleasing color of .

The box arrived in battered condition but the chair parts were well packed and undamaged. Its surprisingly heavy as the base and arms are wood. Assembly was not too difficult as I had read the prior reviews and kept the fasteners loose until the arms were in place. It can be a one person job if you use a small bench to support the bottom and back in an upside down position during initial assembly. When everything is tightened it is quite a sturdy beast. The chair has a pleasing color of reddish brown material and red wood finish. The chair might be a bit high for anyone with short legs. Im six feet and the chair is comfortable in its lowest position. The padded arms are wonderful for relieving pain caused by hours of mouse use. The spring for the back can be set to give just the right resistance so it tilts back only if you lean back. I have found the chair wonderfully comfortable. The seat cushion could have just a bit more thickness but it feels good even after sitting for hours. The chair is a great value.

I know some comments said it was a little small for big and tall, but I am 511 and right at 200 lb and it fits me very nicely. The arms are a little high even at the lowest setting and just do fit under my desk. I am sure it will settle with a little seat time. Great chair overall.

Great midway between office chair and furniture

Just received and assembled thishere are my thoughts / I was a little concerned when the package arrived as the box looked like it had been through a bit. Kinda reminded me of something that had been returned and re/shipped. I was relieved to see the materials were all very well packed and in new condition. All of the parts were well labeled and separated. / My first impression while working through the unpacking process was that everything felt very substantial, very furniture/y. I also like that the base of the chair was wood rather than plastic; I hadnt caught that detail when I bought it. Also, the tension and seat adjust levers are covered in leather too, a nice touch. / If youve assembled as many of these sorts of things as I have, you know that one of the challenges is trying to get everything oriented correctly. I found the assembly very easy to understand, and the pictures were large and clear enough to get a sense of this, which is far from universal in assembly instructions. / 12 screws total to put in, which isnt bad, but its certainly a bit of a knuckle buster to get them tightened up with the tool provided. A fair bit of torque is needed so if you have larger allen wrenches, use them. All in all, I was able to assemble with the tool provided and never felt the need to go fishing in my toolbox. Definitely read the instructions regarding when to tighten and when to leave loose; getting the arms aligned was fairly tricky and its made easier by leaving the plate to the seat back a bit loose while you wrestle those arms into place. All in all, I found this a pretty easy assembly, completed it by myself, though in fairness Im 6 foot 5. I could see a small person having difficulty getting things aligned. I can only offer initial impressions on usage, of course. The seat is VERY firm. Im sure my rear end will work on that little detail in short order. Again, if youre looking for something that sort of straddles the line between office chair and furniture look, and dont want to lay out the extra 100/200 bucks to get it, this guy appears to be a very nice compromise. Im hoping to get years of good use out of it, but once Ive used this a few months Ill update this review. For now.very glad I purchased it and would definitely recommend.

Thinking on your feet / Sit and improve on, those thoughts

This is a great investment. Its comfortable, stable and strong. Glad to have it. If a man can think on his feet.hell abound in one of these.

    meh.

padding on the seat is weak, after a few months, I can feel individual screws and fixtures through the bottom of the chair. Not great longevity on this purchase.
