Bought this bed for my 22 year-old son to replace a 2-year old metal bed frame that started to warp after a year. This bed is SOLIDLY constructed and the slats are less than 3 inches apart which is recommended if you are going to use mattress without a box spring. I was concerned that the mattress would slip around since there is no lip on the sides or foot board to hold the mattress in place. We put a non-slip rug pad on the slats, laid the mattress over the pad and no problems at all with the mattress moving. My son likes the natural wood but its nice to have option to paint or stain it in the future. Also, the bed will be easy to un-assemble and re-assemble the next time he moves (unlike the metal frame that we just brought to the dump.)
Lovely solid bed. Untreated tulip poplar wood, sourced in the US, and perfectly pre-drilled. It took me about 3 hours with many tea breaks and only one mistake at step 1 (my fault, screwed one panel in back to front). Two people would do this in no time. Exceptional value, arrived in compact packaging that was easy for two strong people to get around a tight curved staircase. And it looks so pretty. Might stain one day, but I love the clean unfinished wood. I got the rolling drawers and love it.
Ends of boards are rough, not smooth finish, black discoloration and nearly a bleached appearance. Not a natural look. Photos online are not accurate of wood true color. Unless you want to have to stain dont purchase,
Nice bed for the price. Just know, you will be assembling this from scratch. Great instructions come with it. and assembled in an American garage! The wood is unstained but is sanded. The cuts are precise and it all goes together nicely.
We love our new bed. It was really easy to put together. The instructions were very easy to follow. The bed feels really sturdy and I love the natural state it comes in. We decided to leave it like it came and couldnt be happier.
I was surprised at how easy it was to assemble this bed platform. It is made from solid wood and is very sturdy. On top of that, it is beautiful. I love the look of real wood.
I searched for the perfect as quiet as possible bed for our space (a small apartment) and this bed is great. Weve had it for a month. Heres why:
- It looks beautiful. We chose to leave it as is coming out of the box and it still looks great. Its also the perfect material to stain if youd prefer. I like the natural look though.
- Sturdinesss. Coming from an bed, this bed is much sturdier. Theres no sinking or sagging.
- Its pretty quiet. Now, is it absolutely silent and doesnt make sound at all? Im sorry to report that because the mattress doesnt have anything to stick it to the frame, you may hear some movement with the mattress if theres a lot of movement on top. Ive heard one creak from moving on the edge of the bed but I imagine it just needs to be tightened there. Maybe you can find something to make the mattress stick so it doesnt slide. However, this bed is silent enough for us. When we move in bed, there are no creaks. Its actually surprising how there are no creaks. If it rocks a little, there are no noises except for noise from the mattress moving. Weve had it for a month and I do imagine it needs to be tightened in some places.
So far, so good. Our neighbors downstairs are probably grateful they cant hear our every move. Bless them.

- Lots of space underneath. We chose to buy cheap under bed rolling storage from instead of the expensive brand ones.
I would recommend this bed.
It took me about an hour to put this base together on my own, but the directions are very clear and all hardware is provided, as is a hex wrench, though you do need your own screwdriver.
The only real complaint I have is that I wish the wood had been sanded just a bit more/better. I intend to leave it unfinished, because I like the look of the unfinished wood, but there are occasional patches rough enough to leave a splinter if you run your hands along them. Minus 1 star for that, but otherwise Im 100% satisfied!
This is the best engineered and most easy to assemble piece of DIY furniture I have ever purchased. Video assembly instructions were easy to follow. I only wish you guys made other stuff. Keep up the good work.
