This chair is awesome. Powerful yet quiet motors. Firm yet comfortable. Nearly infinitely customizable. Okay, that's a slight exaggeration but really highly customizable for sure. Feels really solid and well made, like it's going to last. Also, a really good value for the price ($850). The only way that this could be better is if it had a memory feature that would be able to get you right back to your favorite position. Lol
My husband has multiple sclerosis and getting up and down is a real problem for him. He also has problems just getting comfortable to sleep. This chair is a life saver for him! He can be in it for watching TV or lean it all the way back for sleeping. It helps him get up and reach his walker easily as well as sit back down without falling. He loves it! The only thing he has a problem with is where the top meets with the back of the seating area is not comfortable after a long period of time. To combat this, he just puts a rolled up towel back there. Yes, I would recommend this chair especially for the elderly and/or disabled. I was not paid in any form to make this recommendation.
The recliner is too small for me at 6'2 and a very firm seat. Items like chairs, beds, and recliners must be physically tried out before buying. It is way too much of a hassle to return large items to especially if you are handicapped.
The item is just as pictured. Our color is the brownish one as advertised, not the grey that some people received. It was easy to assemble and is great for dad who just had open heart surgery. My mom also is enjoying it but I had to adjust it for her because there are a lot of buttons on the control. But once I've got her ideal spot she has taken very well to it.
I was very dissatisfied with delivery. At check out, it had me choose a delivery date which was Saturday. I received no communication and not delivery Saturday. I contacted the shipper, CEVA, and found out that they ship it to a third party who then delivered it to us. Instead of Saturday February 6, it came Wednesday February 10. I paid for delivery inside my home as the den is upstairs. The guy said that they do not typically deliver inside but I let him know I paid extra for it. He and my brother brought it in (as the delivery drive was just one person). He was very nice, but the /CEVA/This local freight company has the info all wrong. It was saying it had been delivered on a day that it had not and had scheduled me on the 11th originally. I did not make that appointment and unsure who they spoke to that made it as I am the only one they could talk to. Dad was in Cardia ICO and mother has dementia and never answers the phone.
All in all, I am happy with the item but make sure you follow through with phone calls to the delivery company.
This chair was a bit difficult to put together for this older person. With help from my spouse it came together well. The lumbar support and headrest adjustments are a plus as I prefer to sit more erect than leaning back into a chair. The lift feature is one thing I don't use (yet); however I checked it out and it functions quite well. Color and style fits perfectly into my room. It seems to be made very well. I should have looked into power recliners years ago instead of struggling with my old out-dated manual chair. Really worth the money invested for a quality product as my body has less stress on joints and muscles. This power recliner is definitely a keeper!
I am 71. I have pretty bad arthritis then I found out I needed repair surgery. I live alone. I thought I needed to be prepared for the future as well as present. I studied a lot of information and visited and revisited 7 furniture stores. I looked at many chairs on line at many sites before purchasing this one. At first I thought it was small but I am fairly small so it is perfect. Everyone who visits has to try it out and all really like it
This chair is perfect! Great working lift for my hubby who is 6'2 and 260lbs. He has MS and needs help getting up from the couch. It does its job and very stable. One thing... it's a gray and not a brown color.

It you are over 6'2 don't bother
