I ordered this bed for my just turned 4 year old son. My husband and I put it tougher. Took about 2.5 hours. At the very end we figured out that we were missing a rung for the ladder. Our son slept on it anyway and we planned to contact the producer and have them send us a new rung per the directions for missing pieces found inside the box. No response for three days. We finally got an email that said they wanted pictures and it might not be covered because we bought it from a seller and not directly from them. We then contacted who sent us a whole new bed. Which I was super happy about. We get the rung out of the box and attempt to insert it into the holes left for the final rung of the ladder but wait, the holes are too small for the stair. I get to looking at all the pieces. Mind you, its the exact same bed all the new pieces are 1000 more sturdy than the original bed. I cant even wrap my mind around this. The bed took way to long to put together and had way too many pieces to disassemble and erect the new bed. Im just mystified why two of the exact same bed would have such a vastly different quality. The old bed had tons of dings etc bc of how poor the wood quality was compared to the new bed. The old bed will support myself and my son for story time without difficultly. Im also pretty small (115lb and my son is 40lbs). So Im not concerned with it falling down, its very sturdy just disappointed in the quality. If you could guarantee you would get a shipment of the new bed I would recommend.
We like the bed. Its solid and looks nice. Im giving it one star because of a defective part and poor costumer service. One rail was bowed and to long. The package had papers for replacement parts so we emailed, called and left several messages and no response! Im afraid my daughter is going to get stuck or fall because of the missing rail. I threatened to contact the BBB in an email and got an immediate response to that email but after I gave them the information about the bed that they requested / nothing! Obviously this company does not focus on customer service or safety.
When the bed arrived the packaging was a ripped up but the inner protective packaging kept any parts from being damaged. My son loves this bed and it has added additional play area to his room.
Easy to assemble and great quality. The reviews that I read before purchasing said you would need 2/3 people to assemble. I assembled it by myself in about 2 hours.
After purchasing and assembling, I realized I absolutely did not need such a tall bedframe, but now I can and do fit almost all my worldly possessions under it, which leaves a lot of extra space in my bedroom for other stuff. Its incredibly easy to put together, doesnt creak, and if I reach a point where I dont need it anymore it dismantles into easily stored pieces. Another bonus is its not at all. ANOTHER bonus is the rubber mallet that came with it for assembly, because sometimes you need something like that around the house and now I dont have to go out and buy one separately.
I do highly recommend using the adhesive strips to hold the mattress down because I dont use them and the mattress slides quite a bit. I dont know how long the strips would last because my mattress is flippable so Ill be rotating it every few months, but any kind of non/flippable mattress will benefit from the adhesive strips.
