I was worried about the assembly after reading all the reviews. HOWEVER, it had great detailed instructions and all the screws were in separate ziplock bags with labels. As a 49 year old female, I had absolutely no problems assembling the bench under one hour with only a screwdriver. Not sure why others complained or maybe the company improved instructions, but I am happy with the purchase.
This bench is beautiful! The wood is solid hardwood. The finish is really niceee. The color is just what I wanted and is true to what is shown (I ordered black). The other reviews said that it is hard to assemble, but my husband had no trouble with it. The reviews did call out that the hardware was not very gooddd, and it is true that one of the bolts was defective. But that is not enough for me to reduce my review by even 1/2 a star. I am very glad I got this bench. The size is exactly what I expected and it fits perfectly in our entryway.
Seems sturdy but like others mentioned its an absolute pain to put together. I did notice the screws and holes didnt match up but the instructions are also a bit confusing.
The item arrived damaged but its on the bottom where no one will see so Im keeping it. It appears to be on the edge and shouldnt affect it strikeout l structurally.
Overall Im satisfied.

My husband didnt have any problems putting it together as some others have stated. I did have to help him hold the lid when he put the screws in the hinges and support bar, but it wasnt really that difficult. That was the only time it became a 2 person job. We got this shortly before Christmas and everyone has commented on how niceee it is. If youre handy with tools, it wont be a problem. Im so happy I found this one and it had a great price....I would buy it again!!
