Its very firm but comfortable. The color is true to the picture and it looks expensive. It took me about 2 hours to put it all together by myself (skinny, female 54, not the handy type ), so its fairly easy to assemble. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful velvet futon.
This is a very cute couch. Great for my office. Seems sturdy. You are only paying $400 for a couch, so have realistic expectations here. Some of these reviews seem to be expecting a lot at that price. It was pretty easy to assemble - as others have said the arm rests are hidden in a zipper pocket in the back of the couch when it arrives. They arent missing (I panicked). You also need to leave this zipper area open during assembly to access some of the bolts. Its a firm seat - better for reading or working than to curl up probably. But with a foam topper I think it will make an ok bed for weekend guests. The dark green color looks rich and the fabric is nice.

Beautiful but not very comfortable
Beautiful color but very firm and not the most comfortable but will do what we needed. Extra seating when we have a house full.
