Very nice bed the only thing is that the instructions arent very clear so theres some instances where you have to guess how it goes and wish you have it right at the end. The holes where the wheels from trundle go are not placed right so that was something I really struggled with.
It doesnt feel as sturdy as it should though.
It is perfect, as advertised. The assembly could have gone a little better. There were two sets of fasteners that confused us but we saw our mistake before we got too far into the next step. A standard kids mattress would fit okay with no modifications, but the trundle didnt have enough clearance for our mattress to fit under the bed. We added another piece at the bottom of the head and footboards to raise the bed about 2-1/2. It was simple enough.
Went together relatively easy once you figure out the instructions. It is solid wood - so thats nice. Assuming pine.
Paint scuffs easily... the foot piece on our bed (mdf) was scuffed when we received it - well live with it, but that was a little disappointing.
Biggest complaint I have I guess is that the bed needs to air out for a day or more before using it - strong new furniture/chemical smell - from the paint I assume.
Kiddos sleeping in our bed tonight....
My husband and I had been looking for a sturdy twin size bed for our 2.5 year old. Everything we had been looking at was out of our price range or took big for her tiny room. Our toddler had been sleeping with us for months and absolutely refused to sleep in her toddler bed anymore. We were desperate and stumbled upon this bed. For the price, we were a little skeptical. But we went for it. Our toddler loves this bed. It took us 30 minutes to put together and was relatively easy. The hardest part was the prep because there are a few more parts then expected. But since the bed has arrived, our toddler has slept in it all night without any fuss! She loves her big girl bed.
This is a great bed. Solid material and nice finish. Only downside is that its rather light when fully assembled, which is good if you need to move it, not so much if the kids are playing in it.
Great bed, very happy with the quality, nice solid wood! Little disappointed with quality of slats though but still fine. Also, like others there was damage to some pieces, clearly from rough handling of boxes, not sure if in warehouse or delivery. Luckily it was only on one slat (decent chunk removed) and a very small dent on the post in what we used as the foot board and placed that part against wall so cant see. $689 price tag is pushing it though for different colours in my opinion, especially with the likely hood of receiving damaged. Also beats the options I was considering. Oh, make sure to follow instructions and dont forget dowels, easy to do on trundle part!

Well-made bed for the money
