A vertical bunkie board/bed support is a must

Great looking and functional bed. A vertical bunkie board is a must to support the mattress such as Zinus Annemarie Solid Wood Bed Support s. Otherwise, the mattress itself will be pushed into the s.

It really is a great quality bed

I must say I really like the bunk beds and so do my girls. The only things I disliked was that we were missing three bolts so we had to go to Menards to complete the assembly along with having to purchase more wood boards because the ones that were provided werent enough since we had to add a lot more or the mattress would sink in along with my kids. The assembly took my boyfriend about 2 hours minus the struggle of finding the missing pieces we needed he chose not to use the very small wrench they sent because it would take hours to complete that way but I must say the beds are sturdy and they did not arrive damaged like some reviews said so I was very pleased. Hope this helps others looking to purchase. I only have it a 4 due to the missing pieces and lack of wood.

    Slight imperfections but nice

First off, this box came a lot smaller than I expected. It was roughly 10x14x79 and I am small and pregnant and ended up carrying it piece by piece into my house as my husband was at work and I wanted it inside lol there must have been 30+ boards in the box. Carrying it inside I noticed it had more of a reddish tint to it than I expected. The color claims to be espresso but I would say more of an espresso cherry. Which isnt the end of the world, just harder to pair other furniture close in color. It did have a lot of small dents in the boards, definitely not entirely a smooth flat board. It seemed to be just regular board imperfections but if you have ocd this may bother you. I chose this bed since it can hold up to 250 a bed instead of 150 like some of the cheaper ones. Overall it does look really nice and my 5 year old loves it. I probably wouldnt suggest this for teens as the material it is made out of is very light and the boards are kinda thin. It works for what I plan to use it for.

    Almost perfect, one major issue.

The box came in perfect condition, I opened it and everything inside looked perfect, except for one of the long sides of the top bed that had a crack, didnt look too bad, mostly cosmetic and we can live with that, so I went ahead and started putting the bunk bed together. When I was almost done that piece broke in half, really poor quality control. Ive contacted and was given a discount for the bed while Im waiting for the manufacturer to reply to my message in order to get a replacement part. That will be the best option since taking everything apart and trying to put it back in the box will be too much work.

Very good quality trundle BUT THE WHEELS are a problem in height off the floor!

Very easy to assemble, lovely color stain. Mattress did need pushing in to fit but it was a good snug fit that wont allow moving around. The wheels are not a very good height off the floor. Perhaps because of the weight of the mattress it causes the front drawer to be the same distance on the floor. This doesnt allow a fully free glide, though the wheels do help. I wouldnt recommend this for a wood floor as I dont trust the wheel height would be adequate to prevent scraping. After putting it all together x 2 trundles I was not about to figure out a return. If we change from carpet to wood, however, I will change these wheels or create a splint adaptation and use longer screws to secure in so the wheels keep the front off the floor completely.

    Good with modifications.

Overall good, but assembly was a chore! I used the hex screws and tiny hex wrench it comes with, but had to re/drill half the holes or there was no way they were going in. The hex screws are very poor quality and strip easily. Save yourself 4 hours and go buy same size screws that you can use a drill to put in. Also, our older bunk beds that have the same exact design also have 13 boards across the bottom and these only come with 7. I spent 16 buying more boards and screws instead of bunky boards.

    Pros and cons

Pros: materials Good grey color Love how it looks Cons: Needs more wood s, we broke one and bought more from Home Depot to add to it Long siding wood split within first day of being set up. I should mention only a 2 and 4 year old have used these beds so not sturdy. Instructions could use some additions on the railing instructions and which bed parts are for the top bunk vs the bottom

    Not bad

While putting it together one of the bolts would not tighten as if the hole drilled in it was too large
