The mattress arrived in a relatively small box. I was able to carry it upstairs on my own (in my 60s) and after opening it up, it inflated to full size within 20 minutes. There was no discernible odor.
We purchased this mattress for our guest room, not for our own bed. However, we DID sleep on it one night to make sure it would be comfortable for company. While this bed is not quite as soft as our regular mattress, that one cost nearly $2,000. This one is pretty darn close, though. It really is amazing how good a discount mattress can be these days. If you like a mattress that is in the middle of the soft to firm levels, this one would be a good choice. I would be happy to sleep on it every night. And for the price, you have nothing to lose!
This mattress was so neat. We put it on the bed before we opened the last protective layer so it would conform to the sleigh bed. It started taking shape immediately! No smell. Within a couple of minutes it was 7.5 inches tall and by the next day the full height. It was so lovely to lay on. I love it. We got lucky. I was worried there would be a smell or it wouldnt inflate as some reviews said, because I have extreme bad luck, but this was such a good buy.
I was very reluctant to purchase this as I figured I would get what I paid for. That is not the case. I have had 6 different people use this and they all loved it.
This bed is very comfortable, though the memory foam does seem a bit too soft in certain places. I let it rise, on the frame, for 48 hours just to be safe and there are places that drop down when you sit on them. Overall, this mattress is amazing for the price and is very comfortable though Im not sure how much I can say about it relieving back (or other) pain.

It is five stars for sleeping but often my bed does serve as a office of sorts. The mattress is weird to sit on because you do sink in a little. Its a great feature for sleeping because at night it feels like the bed is hugging you but weird if youre trying to type a work email out on your laptop.
Im over 250 pounds and the 10 inch mattress is perfect!
