When purchasing this item I saw a lot of complaints about assembly time. I don't know what people expected when assembling two beds. Full set up time took about 2 hours for us. There are also complaints about it being a two person job. Again, its a full sized bed so I don't know what people expect. Furthermore, it can be done with one person. It's just extremely easier with two people. Great frame. Feels sturdy. Beautiful color.
Love these bunkbeds. My husband put them together in about two hours. They are sturdy and beautiful. Much cheaper, too, than similar options we saw at stores.
The package arrived and was left in front of the house. No worry about anyone stealing it because it was VERY heavy. We unpackaged it outside and carried in piece by piece.
The instructions were easy and I was able to assemble it by myself. I would recommend a drill bit for the hex key because I did it all with the tools provided and ended up with a blister. My 10 year old twins helped lift the twin on top of the full.
We still need the mattresses but so far we love it.
Overall, this is a decent quality, young children's bed for the price point. There are some issues with quality control, primarily a result of lesser quality lumber, but not unexpected due to the cost. As shipped, the box requires two people to move around. Assembly is tedious, but only requires a second person to mount the upper bunk on the lower. A drill will greatly speed up assembly time.
The bed is constructed from a combination of pine for the finished pieces and plywood/laminate for the mattress slats. It appears that the pine has not been dried completely before milling and some the pieces may develop cracks over time as a result. Obviously, cracks can weaken the bed's structural integrity depending on their severity and location. In the three months since purchase, I have noticed only a few small cracks in the spacers between the top bunk slats, nothing that has given me concerns about integrity or safety.
The bed requires full assembly, headers and footers are boxed as components, not completed pieces. Hardware consists of Allen bolts, cabinet nuts, wood screws and wooden dowels. Although easy to assemble with a Phillips screwdriver and the included Allen wrench, it is a tedious affair. The use of t-handled Allen wrenches, and a drill with both screw and hex bits, will reduce build time. I also recommend the use of wood glue during assembly of the headers and footers.
Assembly was straightforward, taking approximately three hours with the aforementioned tools and glue. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. The only issues I encountered during assembly were difficult to remove labels identifying each of the wood parts, and plywood had separated on two of the bed slats requiring glue and clamps to repair. All of the pre-drilled holes and screw marks lined up. Mounting the top bunk frame proved to be a two-person task, but the remainder could be managed by one person.
The slats are spaced too far apart for the use of a futon-style mattress.
As shipped, this is not a bed for adult use. It may be possible for a single adult to sleep on the lower bunk, but this will require more sturdy slats and a foundation. Adults and older children should not use the top bunk at all. The guard rails are of a safe height, but like the ladder, limited to the pictured configuration.
The bed is finished with a low-gloss white paint. I saw no visible drips or runs during assembly.
Upper bed is sturdy enough for elder also, also it is easy to put down.
First time assembly, required one day for me. If looking for a good quality , descent looking sturdy bed , go for it.
Great bunk bed for the price. I didnt run into any issues with installation but it definitely too a while since there were so many pieces. Girls love it!
We love the look of this bed and the design seemed so solid. Unfortunately, after only a month, it already has cracks showing, and my top-bunk kid is just 60 pounds. I am now worried about the safety of the bed.
EDIT: Its been at least a year now and the cracks, while annoying, dont seem to be any more than superficial. Its a sturdy bed for now (my kids are both 60 pounds a piece, so we will see how it holds up as they grow) and I like the look and design. I do wish the ladder stopped at the bottom of the bottom mattress so a trundle could be used, but that appears to be reserved for more expensive beds.
Difficult to assemble. Instructions are helpful but markings and directions are difficult to decipher. Once the assembly is complete, the beds look nice.
I love this bed!
It came within a couple of days in one long box. Everything was pretty compact, so there was limited waste in packaging, and the parts were all clearly labeled.
It took two of us a total of about two hours to assemble the whole thing. Thanks to clear instructions, well-packaged hardware, and good labeling all around, it was a surprisingly simple project.
There were a few dinged pieces, but nothing I cant easily cover with a tad of white paint. And considering the cost, doesnt give rise to lowering the rating to four stars.
All in all, its a great value, a sturdy bunk bed, and it looks great! I highly recommend.

After 2 months, there are already some cracks on the top bunk. The only person who has been up there weighs 35 lbs.
Great frame. Feels sturdy. Beautiful color.

Decent quality for the price point. Requires two people move and assemble, and over four hours of assembly time with basic tools
