    Very solid, really good-looking bed!

This bed is amazing! I got it blue for my sons' room. First of all, I got it on sale for roughly $220 here on . My husband put it together using power tools in a couple of hours – he is pretty handy. We all love it! I will say that we have 10-12 inch mattresses on both the upper and lower bunks and they're a little too thick, in that there's just that much less room between the bottom and the top bunk and the top bunk and the ceiling. I wish I had gotten 8 inch mattresses. I'll post an update in a month or two on the quality of the bed.

    Good quality and easy assembly

Very good option. I was surprised that it's made of solid wood. Assembly process took me three hours and I'd say that instructions are very clear. I received one piece scratched but it's not a big deal, if I had to replace it, I just have to call the manufacturer and they send me a new piece again. You can use a 6 or 8 inches mattress.

    Great value and straightforward assembly.

We wanted to convert the gym in our home to a children's bedroom for when our grandchildren visit (ages 3 and 5). We wanted a bunk bed that would allow us to maximize the floor space for the kids, but also wanted something larger than a twin in the event we had a houseful of company and needed to put adults in there. We looked at the local stores but didn't find anything we liked, and everything we saw was $500 and up plus delivery and set up...so I did some web surfing and found this bed walmart.com. It fit our needs, looked okay, and the price was certainly good. But if you have dealt with a WalMart store in recent years, you know how difficult they have become when it comes to returns or issues with a purchase. So I went to (my preferred online shopping source) and found the same item for essentially the same price. Done deal. I also bought two memory foam mattresses and the total delivered price was less than just the beds we saw locally. Delivery was earlier than expected and UPS and even brought the (heavy) box inside. All the parts were there and my wife re-labeled everything for ease of set up. Instructions were good with adequate detiail, and the hardware was all numbered and blister packed, so the assembly went like clock work. I have a tip for you handymen. Toss the free Allen wrench they supplied, look in your security bit assortment and use your screw gun or drill (my bits are from a Harbor Freight set I bought for under $10 and I have used it a lot). You will save yourself hours and the finished product will be more secure. The total time from opening the box to finished product was under 6 hours. I am more confident in the bed and my own assembly than if a delivery crew did a rush job for a bed that my grandchildren will sleep on.

A SOLID WOOD piece of furniture! - Extremely unusual for a DIY, RTA piece of furniture.

A SOLID WOOD piece of furniture! - Extremely unusual for a DIY, RTA piece of furniture. The railings, headboard, and footboard are plywood, and the slats are solid pine. The quality is impressive for the price. All of the pieces and parts were present and aligned perfectly. The assembly instructions are adequate. You should probably use a separate piece of thin plywood, luan, or very heavy cardboard (i.e., the bed's packaging material) over the slats to avoid damaging the mattresses. Probably mandatory with foam mattresses. Helpful hints: You will need a power drill/driver (ideally with an adjustable torque clutch) and another set of hands. Be sure not to over tighten the wood screws, although the bolts and nuts require a bit more torque. Carefully orient the headboards and footboards during assembly so that the upper and lower bunks align and adjoin. Dry-fit the headboards and footboards flat on the floor before tightening fasteners. Overall, I was very surprised by the high quality of this RTA bunk bed.

    Great fornthe price

This bed was easy to put together but had some scratches when it arrived. Like others have stated, this material seems to dent/scratch easily. Overall construction seems fairly sturdy. Might not hold up to heavy abuse. The cross members flex quite a bit.

Bed was nice quality, some holes were not drilled properly or put in the exact place which made putting it together kind of tough.

Excellent product and what a value for the money

First of all, I read a lot of the reviews on this product. I was a little afraid when some people commented about cracked boards. I am an electrical contractor for thirty plus years. I watched two of my electricians put the bed together. It took about three hours. I had NO cracks. Most importantly I am very impressed with the quality and solidness (if that's a word) of this bed. The wood slats for the mattresses are spaced perfectly and in abundance. Excellent product and what a value for the money.
