Pretty difficult to assemble, and I couldnt imagine doing it with one person instead of two.
But for the cost, thats not a huge deal.
I only had one small crack in the wood because I screwed too tight, and a couple of cosmetic cracks, but nothing that affected sturdiness even a little.
Again, for the cost, its easy to overlook slight cosmetic imperfections.
My kids love their bunk bed!
I honestly wasnt expecting it to be so nice. This was going to be a stand in since the one we wanted wasnt going to be available for a while and now we arent even buying the other one. Very impressed. I never give reviews but this one deserved one. She loves her first bed! Thank you!
This is a beautiful bed. No odor was noticed at the time of unboxing and assembly. It was fairly easy to assemble and took a couple hours. My grandson LOVES it! The bed is about 4ft high and a perfect height for him, hes 6.
The wood is very soft and can be scratched or dented easily.
It was a breeze to put together, you do need two people to get it done. All holes aligned perfectly. Parts are all labeled.
Overall its a sturdy bed and solid design. Definitely worth the $
My biggest disappointment with this bed is that the color is NOT as shown. Im so disappointed that it was advertised as white and shown as white but the color is actually cream colored. The knots of the wood are popping out of the paint too. Just the color is so disappointing.
The sturdiness is ok. Our kids are under 5 so they are ok weight wise for them but it needs a board to go over the slats for all mattresses that are not a traditional spring. The space for the mattress is very shallow so thankfully we got a shallow mattress that fits it ok.
The assembly was easy and they are style wise, very cute. Its not amazing quality, but probably a good deal for the price so I will give it 3 stars.
My wife and I were looking for a loft bed to make some more play space in my 3.5yr old sons bedroom. Its a fairly small room and we wanted more room for him to spread out his toys and things on the floor. He loves the new bed and spends quite a bit of time up on the bed part with his books as he does down below playing. We didnt think of how much he would like spending time in the bed part.
Assembly was fairly straight forward and the instructions are complete. The worst part of assembly is putting together the long side of the upper rails. Since there arent separate fasteners, they have to be slid in at the same time as the end panels go on. Definitely requires two people.
When assembled as delivered, the bed is fairly sturdy. Its not too tall, so it would probably be livable. I decided to make a couple of improvements for its long-term use and peace of mind. The first was that I added 6 more slats to the part that supports the mattress. We are using a 5 thick foam mattress from and it just seemed too soft in places. With three 1x3s eight feet long, I cut six more slats at 39 and screwed them down just like the others. The next improvement was to use some self-tapping sheet metal screws to join the slats to the steel beam down the center. This made a huge difference in the rigidity of the bed. Finally, I added two anti-tip furniture straps to tie it to the wall.
Overall, I would say that this was a winner. I was hesitant to buy something instead of building it myself, but I think that in this case it was a success. With a couple of inexpensive improvements it became exactly what we needed.
