I paid a premium in comparison to the South Shore alternative because in giving the picture of the drawer sides it seems to be all wood. The description should mention MDF!!
I was skeptical to buy any bed online for fear it would show up damaged, but I took a chance on this one. All the pieces came and they were in tact. It took my husband and I roughly 2 hours to put this together. We followed the directions step-by-step and they were pretty easy to follow. Dont try to skip ahead a step, because it will set you back. Also we did not pay attention to which way to install the wooden slats and we actually put them in upside down. We had them all installed before we realized and there was no way we could go back and fix so we just left them that way. No issues with my daughters bed so far and its been about a month. She loves it and the drawers underneath make it very easy for her to get her clothes. Its a cute bed for a little kids room. We used our own drill to install most of the screws. I also recommend having a rubber mallet on hand when installing the wooden slats, as the plastic pieces are tough to pound in without one.
Im in live with this bed it was easy to follow instructions, you just need to have patience because it have a lot of screw but thats fine with me. Totally love it that got me the same bed in a king size.

The bed comes packed in a very thoughtful way. Everything is there tight and neat. The installation itself is not very complicated but it takes time and require you to pay attention. Some of the explanation are easy to miss, so pay attention when assembly the bad (for example - the wood sticks that are being used to carry the mattress are arched lightly and if you install them the opposite way it is hard to impossible to fix it (not a big deal but still.). All together I feel it gives a very good return for the price.

The bed takes a while to put together. I was disappointed that when I took it out of the box some of the pieces had dirt and fingerprints on it.
