I bought this from Walmart in 2012 and so far I have absolutely loved it. Its perfect for my apt. since its a studio and space is at a minimum and since its full size youre not really missing anything either.
When I first got it I was using a twin mattress with blankets stuffed along the edges so it felt a little unsteady but that was fixed with the correct mattress size. It can still move around a little but its pretty much the same as any other bunk/loft. For reference im 56 and 170 pounds.
The only thing that I would think is a con is that the desk area feels a little narrow. Its totally fine if you use a laptop or want it just for studying/writing but I had to angle my monitor a bit to get to to fit in the space. Its not horrible but I would keep that in mind.
My daughter loves the bed and desk is really great!!! Very strong I feel she will be very safe in this bed. Thank you for the reviews because if you do not have a lot of sunlight under the desk will be a little dark but that is ok we got a desk lamp.
Bought this for my 19 year old son. He loves the work space and the bed is very comfortable. Easy to assemble, he and his father had it up in about an hour!! frame is sturdy. Great Loft Bed!!
Great product with fairly simple installation.
2 tips to help keep it from being squeaky/noisy:
1. The slats bang against the rail. I bought a 4 roll of foam weather stripping tape and put it on top of the rail.
2. When you install the grey plastic pieces that lock in the slats, make sure you install them the right way. You can put it one way and the slat can still wiggle which is on clanging. If you flip it there will be no wiggle/noise.
This bed was a surprising find. I bought it because it was on sale for under 300 and the desk was on the side which affords us more play room for our 6 year old. This desk was very straightforward and easy to put together. It came organized and labelled for fool proof assembly. We just got this but it also seems very sturdy with plenty of support bars. This is a great way to open up a small space for a kid. We put her dresser, baby doll crib, and toybox under it and there is still room for playing fort and homework at the desk and she now actually has carpet to play on! Some advice: 1/buy a lamp because it is dark under there, 2/ pay attention to dimemsions and location of ladders because it may not fit every room and the ladder locations are fixed. It is also very tall so be mindful of ceiling fans!
Excellent bed for money. Great construction. Was put together by my husband and 14 year old daughter. Only looses 1 star for steps as they are quite hard on your feet. Good value and cute color.
