We put this in my office to use for guests. Assembled very easily - does help to have 2 people. Still working on how one person can open it up, but with two its a breeze. Great quality solid wood (hard to find in a world of pressed board). Would recommend to anyone needing a bed in a smaller space. BTW we use and DHP 8 inch coil futon mattress and keep the futon folded in couch mode. The mattress works fine with no slippage at all and is very comfortable.

The futon is sturdy and beautiful. Arrived earlier than anticipated. Took my hubby and I about 2hrs to assemble it. I used a drill for the most part. I only used the Allen wrench for hard to access places. Everything is easy. Just follow instructions.
Once it is put together it is a beautiful and solid quality 5 star frame. But, If you suffer from assembly dyslexia or you are not a genuine do it your selfer. Get help. It was a 2 person job and it took a couple of hours to put it together.
Assembly required is an understatement. It was not my idea of light or easy assembly and that is why I give it 2 stars! I bought the futon frame set. Opened the frame box and (yikes) I see that it is a real do it yourself frame (see photos). Are you good with jigsaw puzzles?
Traditionally the mattress bases are assembled. What you see in these pictures are the entire frame.
The last wooden frame that I owned came with an assembled mattress base and all I had to do was assemble the support beams and the sides together and thats what I call light and easy assembly. I just want the DIYers to know what to look forward to when you buy this frame.
See that handy guide on the side and that ball in my enclosed pictures? Thats your hardware, bolts and screws. The instructions that were included in my box were for a different frame. That helped for about 85% of the assembly. I think you have to really like putting things together or know someone who likes putting things together to appreciate this offer.

I really like how sturdy it is and how rich it looks with the dark wood stain. Extremely fast shipping and great communications with buyer. Took me like 2 hours 2 assemble. Came with free set up assembly worth 126$ I’m a perfectionist and didn’t want a half asf job so I didn’t use the free set up it was days away and I wanted my bed as soon possible. I wanted to avoid the tech scratching it. But it came with 2 nasty scrapes on the finish, disappointing but not a big ordeal. Don’t hesitate buying one. Made in Thailand not China.
Good quality but no efficient to open and close when the futon is on top. I can’t do it myself. Always need to call my husband. Besides that I like it and every guest that sleeps on it too!
