This chair is pretty basic and gets the job done! I dont have a need for a big fancy chair, just something to put at my desk for a couple hours on weekends. This chair was easy to put together and has held up. Some other reviews stated the arms broke easily but I havent experienced it and Ive had this chair for a solid year now. Ive had my kids jumping and hanging on it and Ive even caught myself putting all my body weight on the arms and they still hold.
Only part that doesnt seem to hold up AS well is the seat cushion. After a year, I can feel the hard wood underneath it but its not unbearable at all--sometimes Ill just realize it is there. Great chair for the price, I would buy this again if I had to but its holding up great for now.
My old $300 office chair broke, and this was purchased until we could budget for a quality replacement, but this chair is honestly rather cozy. Im usually fairly skeptical about buying cheap office products due to past and experiences. Those two brands have really taught us that you really do get what you pay for. With this office chair, has broken through that stereotype barrier. All the parts are pre-manufactured and labeled with great accuracy, which made the assembly very easy and relatively quick. Im a good 250 lbs and have reclined all the way back in this chair with ease. Good job Basics.
Great chair for working on the computer. It is smaller in size than my previous one but, far more comfortable. My body fits in the seat back more comfortably enabling me to enjoy the experience instead of fighting with the chair to prevent slipping forward ( as in the old chair). It was reasonably easy to put together, therefore saving the charge for that being done by the company. The leather back and seat are smooth (as far as I could detect) without any flaws or blemishes. Altogether, a good value for the money!
I read some of the less than steller reviews complaining of the broken armrests and still decided to order two of these chairs. The armrests are just fine but I can see why they may have snapped if even a slightly built person were to do handstands on them while sitting down or getting out of the chair while using them like the hand grips on a pommel horse. Dont buy this chair if thats your intended purpose. Do buy it if you want an easily assembled home office style chair that is reasonably comfortable for everyday use. It is not wobbly like many home office chairs and the upholstery can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Wikipedia has a well-written description of bonded leather that is often used in the manufacture of economy grade furniture that you may want to read if you are not familiar with it. This chair is a bargain priced from and Im confident Ill get several years use from it.
