The transverse metal bars to Support the mattress are too short and barely fit along the lateral Support bars. The Support bars are made up of layers of thin metal and when screwing the supports in, the metal splits. We had to buy separate 2x1 for additional support.
OK, so I wasnt going to purchase this because of some of the bad reviews, but Im glad I ended up buying it. The value matches the price, but its pretty decent, and Im happy with it. There is definitely room for error when assembling the frame. I can see where other reviewers had issues. As you can see in my pictures, the center metal support is poorly designed. Instead of being a bar that extends from one end of the bed to the other, they provide two shorter bars - and you must begin each bar at either side of the bed (head and foot), and they pass each other in the middle but do not extend all the way. Also, they dont attach to the head or foot. Very strange, but its fine. And then theres the issue of the slats not extending quite all the way across. No big deal Just push the frame in a little before you screw it down, and voila, it fits just fine. You definitely need an electric drill for that part. Lastly, you dont technically need two people to assemble it. I am one person and got it done. It was a pain in the butt a couple of times and would definitely be easier quicker with more than one person, but not necessary. If you are not very handy, I would suggest requesting help from someone who is. In the end, I tested out the bed, and it feels very sturdy and trustworthy. It looks good too. I hope this helps.
The frame is sturdy for the most part. Was a little challenging to line everything up to put it together. When securing 2 of the base pieces the metal started to split. But I was able to do it myself in an hour or so. Looks great.
This bed is super solid! Heavy duty metal and great quality hardware. Directions were a little tough to follow but if you take your time its not so bad. I was able to build it by myself. Dont over tighten the screws.
Very strong and easy to put together, it was perfect with the orthopedic mattress that my mom needs. She arrived on time and the packaging was a bit fragile but everything was fine.
Could use some verbal instructions to accompany it. How to video posted would also be useful. Daughter and I (mom with some experience) assembled the bed in 1.5 hours. Recommend having an electric drill and rachet set. Drill because the metal frame braces inside the side boards where the metal bars are to be attached do not have pilot holes. Rachet wrench is easier than provided tool. All parts are supplied. The boards are not real metal but pulpmetal with a metal paper finish. For the cost I thought it was reasonable. Wish I could find the headboard which is mentioned in the directions. It does fit a full size mattress.
Well Ive only had for one day and my daughter put it together in 2 half hours. Sturdy, solid, does not squeak and it is the right height for me. BUT...yes there is a but... Assembly Directions are poor, we figured it out but all the screws were all in ONE bag and no written explanation, just numbers, if you can get pass that then u will have one solid lovely platform bed BUT...I love it!!
Got this bed because I loved the style. Immediately when we started to put it together we noticed the finished quality for the paint and sanding were horrible. Not all the metal was painted and in some spots it felt like a really rough piece of metal.

Satisfied. Nice sturdy so far. Opportunity for user error with assembly

Great piece of furniture for the price.

Surprised how easy to assemble.

Good Bed
Heavy, feels sturdy— slats are metal(I wouldve preferred metal).
I love but instructions suck

Disappointed

Its good but not great
The only reason I dont give it 5 stars is because the drawers are kind of a b word to move around on carpet. Might do better on metal though!
