I stained my bed frame and sealed it and it was easy to do. The metal takes paint and stain well. Its very sturdy and doesnt move. My mattress will move if pushed kind of hard though. You could always add more metal to brace it, I have a full so its kind of light but my mom has a king with the same frame and it doesnt move.

If you plan on painting or staining, I suggest finishing prior to assemble or loosen bolts on headboard and footboard and paint or stain then when dry, tighten them back up. Itll be neater.
Read the instructions and the notes from the builder. Youll be glad you did. American made and straight from the Appalachian Mountains, my favorite place to visit. Beautiful!
Great, sturdy, solid and durable frame. I tell everyone looking for a bed to go with !! Our Kentucky folks know their forests and metal fabrication - and this is a great bed! Solid build, the cross-lattes are thicker than all other brands and affixed to the frame. The centerboard is very solid within the frame (most metal frames this is cheap and flimsy). This bed does not bend, sway or move, headboard stays put. Worth the small extra money over all the popular frames you see repeated on . I will buy another - I got natural and the metal is beautiful with gorgeous features - be ready as you get some variation in color, which made the metal even more unique and pretty. Easiest bed I have ever assembled - this ones with me for life.
When I unboxed it, it was a lot to take in, but when I looked at the instructions it was very easy to assemble. Comes with everything you need. I stained it and sprayed it with satin finish and I am very pleased. It is very quiet and sturdy. I also purchased the drawers which are also great.
This is going to sound like a paid review but I swear its not (promise Im not that cool). When I say I SCOURED the internet looking for the perfect bed frame. I truly searched high and low. I was obsessed with one from west elm but could not bring myself to drop $800 on a bedframe for such a simplistic look. And man am I glad I didnt because this is a FANTASTIC bedframe. The metal quality is gorgeous, there are varying tones but I like the subtle purples in the metal (Im sure would be easy to stain if youre into that kind of thing). It was a super heavy box, DEFINIETLY recommend two people carrying it and putting it together. Im sure I could have on my own but it just went by so much faster having my boyfriend help out. I was worried about the squeaking/moving/overall sturdiness of this bedframe because us adults can be...well....active. The bed frame does not move/squeak or anything! I am honestly SO impressed by it. The mattress does move around a little bit (I have my bed up on one side of the wall) so Im sure with some Velcro strips or something that would fix that problem. I swear I normally dont write reviews but I looked for so long and read so many on beds that I absolutely had to write one for this bed frame. It is worth every cent (and honestly maybe even underpriced?!) So if youre looking for a very clean, simple mid-modern metal look THIS IS the bed for you! Seriously, buy it you will not regret it. ALSO important to note that the directions say after the first 30 days to go and retighten the bolts, which I did, but they really did not need it the bolts were still super tight. But hey a good thing to note!
