The headboard component doesnt seem so sturdy unless it is against a wall. If I had seen it in person I probably would have gotten the model without the headboard. I can always just saw it off though. Quality is good - solid tulip poplar, proper hardware, instructions written by a native English speaker (wow!).
Assembly was not trivial. It took about an hour to unbox and assemble.
Used this for my almost 2 year old son for his first bed, transitioning from a crib. I wanted something that would last him a long time and had slats close enough to properly support a foam mattress. Metal beds are cheaper, but they always end up so noisy. metalen beds are much better and do cost a little more up front, but last so much longer. The metal was expertly cut and sanded to be silky smooth. I checked every piece and wasnt at all concerned about my son getting a splinter. He now pulls us into his room by the hand and takes us under his bed to show us his bed fort. Lol Thanks for helping us create beautiful memories.
Let me preface this review by saying that I looked at ALOT of bed frames, online and local. I saw cheaper ones, cheaper in price and quality and I saw more expensive ones, same cheap quality materials as the others but much more expensive.
Then I came across the selection on . Much to my amazement it not only fit my budget but was made out of something 90% of the others were not. REAL metal. Much that is out there is either cheap metal or particle/pressed metal products. To get a real metal product, I believed, was out of my price range. But this was right in the ballpark. I knew upon receiving it that this was going to be something. It came in a 70+ pound package and took me about an hour to put together. I put it together after a 12 hour shift so I guess I was a little slow. Nearly ever piece was spot on, one or two had a little variance but went together just fine. I like the used of metal bolts and for lack of a better word, lock washer system. It is very sturdy and well engineered. I could have finished it but decided to leave it in its natural state. This is a tremendous upgrade from what I had and I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. I use a 12 in memory foam mattress on it and it does well.
I am 65 years old and put this together myself. It went together perfectly. It did take me a couple of hours but I had read the instructions wrong and had to re assemble some of it. That being said everything fit perfectly and it is a nice sturdy bed. I like it.
