I bought this instead of buying a 330 lb. safe because its upstairs. Safe is as described, straightforward to set up a combination, and instructions are easy to understand. Looked at several other products, both online and in-person. Very happy with my purchase - I highly recommend it.
With grandkids coming over it is nice to have the peace of mind that my guns are safely stored away. Enough room for ammo and valuable papers. Fits nicely in my closet and holds rifles with scopes and a separate locked area for handguns. Very easy to program the lock and just happy with the safe.
For my safe I experimented with ease of closing and locking door. I found similar to a large metal storage cabinet at work, that just a little toe pressure inward on the bottom of the door really helps. I gives it that extra millimeter or two allowance for the lower latch to easily slide in place. All is well with a quality product and easy to follow instructions. Thank you!
Great transición from our glass door wooden gun cabinet to this! Thinner, space saving is a win. Children love to mess with the buttons but no glitches or lock outside. Worry bout an easy break in is no more. Love this buy!
Overall Id say this safe does exactly what it says it will do: keeps guns safe. I am satisfied with the safe for general-purpose gun storage. It is sturdy enough to discourage a casual thief or over-curious house guest.
It is easy enough to get into with the proper code and/or key; after a couple of tries it has already become second-nature.
The safe itself isnt terribly heavy, and I was able to move it up and down stairs myself with a bit of effort (I suspect that is not recommended, however).
It was packaged well, and unboxing was easy. The instructions were clear and easy to follow.
I do have two small critiques:
The primary reason I bought this safe over others in a similar price range was the included interior lock-box, and its fine for my purposes. I do wish the little door was given a little more attention, though. It rattles around pretty easily, and I dont like the noise. I will fix the problem myself with the simple addition of a strip of cloth or padding glued to the interior of the door frame where metal touches metal; that should do the trick.
Secondly, there is an included shelf, which is also very handy. Two mounting positions are provided beneath the lockbox. I have longer guns which make the lower option unusable in my case, but could be fine for some shotguns. The higher option is juuuuuuuust barely able to clear the muzzle of one of my rifles if placed exactly right, and if I dont put it away in a precise manner the muzzle brake rubs against the included felt-covered shelf. This can also be fixed easily enough with the addition of some bolts over the screw holes to lift the shelf and give it a few millimeters more of clearance. That said, it would be nice if the shelf had some other method of height adjustment.
In conclusion, for a decent safe with some flexible storage options, this safe has served me well. If anything comes up over the next few weeks, months, or years, I may dip back into this review for an update.
Comes pre-assembled; easy to open and reset to setup personal PIN; good balance as it doesnt tip forward with the door open (it tips back to stand upright, if you tip it forward). It doesnt have a level base since it easily wobbles on a level floor, but mounting it would remove that issue. A short shotgun or bullpup rifle likely wont be tall enough to rest in the barrel mounts.
I ordered the safe that remembers the passcode if the battery fails. The safe arrived fast from Georgia to CA in a nice box very well protected. The safe does wobble a tiny bit on a flat surface, and the door is slightly crooked. For the price I cannot complain. The handle was very loose, and after contacting Lannger, I was instructed to remove the panel and tighten the handle screw. It was actually a bolt. Now it is tight. The manufacturer/seller is very fast to respond to emails.
I find I can fit only 3 rifles with scopes inside; one (a bullpup) is on a severe angle in order to close the door.
The lock took my passcode on the first try, and has opened every time I use it. So far so good.
Overall, I like the safe providing the lock always works.
