As described and easy to set up. Im glad I read the reviews first to not tighten everything all the way until the end. I was able to put this together by myself by pinning one side between the wall and the bed. It is wobbly up top so definitely needs the anchors. I did not like the anchors provided so Im going to get some more. I love the space underneath. My kids love the set up so far.
I like it. My son wanted to make the most sense out of a small bedroom. Hes in college now and used to bunk beds and loft beds. We purchased this bed and hired someone to put it together instead of my son for security and peace of mind And its great! My son is 20 years old and sleeps in it when he is home from college. He has a desk underneath and has had no complaints! Great purchase!
Assembly is very easy. Easy to assemble, works great in the boys shared room. The ladder bars arent the most comfortable to climb up and down especially first thing in the morning. Also they have to climb over the railing to get to the ladder so half sleepy little kids are at a fall risk for this part. The height of the top bunk rail is great for safety though, no one is falling out of the bed. Seems fairly sturdy.
Beautiful!! Product was easy to assemble, very sturdy and looks great. Only issue is the ladder with round steps. Painful and requires some type of foam
Should buy. Was easy to assemble. Had a large scratch on metal leg.
Should include extra straps to mount to wall or better quality. Inly came with two and one came apart when screwing into wall. Need extra now.
Perfect and Sturdy. PACKAGING: This bed is well packaged, and came in a relatively small box considering how large the final piece is.
ASSEMBLY: Against my better judgment, but in the interest of time, I put this together by myself. It took about 3.5 hours total. The instructions were decent, but there were a couple pieces I had to redo because the diagram wasnt very clear on which way to turn the piece and I was in a hurry so I missed it until I tried to attach the next piece. Placing the slats underneath was a bear. The plastic squares that close up the openings to keep the slats in place were brutal on the fingers. I was afraid to use a hammer because I didnt want to break them, but they were so hard to lock into place I was nearly in tears. I tried starting from different angles and it didnt seem to make much of a difference. Maybe wear gloves for that step?
STURDINESS: This generally feels pretty sturdy. I love how many slats there are to support the mattress, so sagging should not be an issue. It does creak a bit and Im slightly bummed by that.
SIZE: Im not sure if the mattress space is tighter than it should be or if the mattress I bought is slightly larger than it should be, but there is ZERO space to comfortably make the bed. The sheets are just kind of crammed into place. That is the most aggravating part of this bed, but again Im not sure if its the beds fault or the mattress.
COMFORT: As others have stated, the ladder rungs are very painful on a bare foot. After a couple weeks I decided to hack around that. (See video in this review) For 2 at Lowes you can buy a foam pipe cover and cut it to size for each rung, and the bottom frame. I slid those over the rungs and they made a significant improvement in comfort, but felt dangerous because they spun around. So I grabbed double/sided grip tape used to keep area rugs in place, and cut into the appropriate size strips and placed them under the foam on each rung. Problem solved! Now more comfortable and safer.
Its ok but smaller than expected. Price is pretty great. It looks just as advertised. It is wobbly but they do include wall mounts to stabilize it better. My biggest issue so far has been how uncomfortable the latter is. Its really hard on the feet. But for me personally I can fix that with some foam. The instructions were fairly clear. There was a few parts that required a bit of assumption but nothing too far out of the range of common sense. The only thing that didnt match their advertising is that mine didnt come with a slat divider a little disappointing but not a big deal. Overall Id say worth it.
Even though the weight limit is high, its not sturdy at all. It wobbles and shakes. Also, its not easy to get up the ladder, the steps hurt your feet. My son has to wear his shoes when he goes up.
Good build quality and value. Our only complaint is the rungs of the ladder are exceptionally small diameter. This may not be a problem for very young children with small feet but slightly older children may find it very uncomfortable or painful to use. We purchased a playground style cargo net with larger dowels as an alternative and secured it on the opposite end. Kids are now happy to climb in and out without pain or discomfort. Overall a good purchase.
