The details state the bed is rated for 400lbs, but the ladder to get to the bed is not rated for that weight. Looking at other reviews on here, a common issue is for parents to break through the steps on the ladder. I (below 200lbs) broke two steps and sliced my leg completely open, which almost needed stitches. The rest of the bed overall is wobbly, and I would NOT RECOMMEND it! Poor, poor quality! Dont recommend
My 5.5 yr old loves it, so thats what matters most. Weve only had it a week, so only time will tell if it stands up to the test of time. This was a long/term investment for us, so Im curious to see if it was made to last. Delivery came as expected via a Ryder moving truck. Driver was polite and courteous a brought box into our home at our request. MAN, was it heavy, good thing we have tiled floors, so we just pushed it to the bedroom. Unpacking we noticed everything was neat and tidy and for the most part, all labeled hardware was put in their own small box. As for assembly, it took us roughly 3 hours for me and my husband to put together. I mostly directed, while he did the building. Instructions were semi/easy to follow. Its all diagrams youre trying to follow in a stapled 40 page packet. We made a couple of mistakes along the way as we were confused those times, but overall a good experience. Bed looks nice, and has plenty of room for under bed storage and play area. Lovely for the price
Lets start from the beginning. Took about a week and a half from the time I ordered this bed to it being delivered. The box was hella heavy guys. Not even kidding. The spouse and I were struggling to get this up the stairs. Wound up cutting the box open and moving the pieces a few at a time. They were all intact with no damage.
The item itself is pretty good for the price we paid. I do have some issues. We bought the white version and the paint is very thin. I think it was just quickly airbrushed, and not very evenly overall. I already had an incident where the ladder got knocked as I was putting it on, and the paint scrapped clear off a part of the upper frame where it sits. I can tell touching up the paint is going to become a thing.
Also the directions are not the best. If youve ever assemble Ikea furniture, theyre on par, but perhaps slightly worse as none of the hardware is labeled and youre gonna spend half the time trying to figure out if youve got the right screws. I think I spent an hour just looking back and forth between the screws part list and the current instructions.
Overall, took me about 4 hours by myself, and my kid is ecstatic. Its a fantastic price.
the hardest step in assembling this bed was those smaller thin pieces of wood that slide into each end. Between myself and my stepfather, it took SO many tries to get them all to stay at once. they are not secure and wiggle. when you think you have all the slots in, you dont. Anyway, it was pretty funny and we figured it out eventually, but the wooden screws or whatever you call them are too loose for the hole and THAT was also a problem with them falling out over and over. Other than that, two thumbs up! This product was exactly what I was hoping for
This bed seems sturdy and the clay color is really nice. My only complaint is that the area under the bed isnt high enough for my 12 year old son to stand up in. It works fine if hes sitting at the desk, but he cant walk under it. I realize this is our mistake.the dimensions are there, and I obviously didnt double check. But between the name of the bed being high loft and it being rated to 400 lbs., we made the mistake of assuming (yeah, yeah I know the saying.) that it would be taller than it actually is. We had hoped to use this bed through his high school years, but Im thinking he will be passing it down to his younger brother in just a couple of years (or growth spurts). Kind of a bummer because he was so excited.took a little bit of the wind out of his sails once we realized how short it was. (And hes not a tall kid.just in general.) Absolutely awesome product!!
I did have to chisel a small chunk out where the ladder meets the frame so that it would rest properly. Not a big deal and invisible once done, but took off a star because of that fitting issue. Otherwise its a very nice set. Really Happy!!
Not easy to assemble, but in my opinion anything that needs to be that sturdy will require some tools. Husband used his very carefully and made it a little better. High quality piece! Great find!!
Claims to be able to hold 400 pounds, that only pertains to the bed itself. I stepped on the ladder (200 pounds), and the rung broke. It is literally only be held on with 4 little 1 doll rods. The thing just blew out the top. Obviously Im not gonna disassemble and send back. Will wait to see what /Manufacture does to rectify. I definitely dont recommend this product especially if it is listed at 700+. It was 350 when I purchased. Pretty disappointing purchase for the price.
Beautiful bed! My daughter loves it. It is definitely a two or maybe even three person job. Lots of screws, which adds to the sturdiness. Good value for the money. This was definitely a good choice.
