Beautiful bed, easy to assemble, though sturdy is made out of aluminum which may not hold up, but for under $200 and having shopped around for similar products of equal quality which were twice the price this is definitely a bargain.
This is a great bed. Fairly easy to put together and it seems very solid. Ive been using it for less than a week so I cant speak to long-term durability, but it seems like it will be fine. It looks great in my FL house w/ a beachy comforter on it.
WOW! I went from a wood sleigh bed to this and am I ever glad!! It freed up a lot of space in my room and it looks classy. The cross rail design is sturdy and strong and the bed has several points of contact to the floor. The fact you can buy a nice frame like this for around $200 bucks is amazing. Totally great bed. Doooo Iiiiiiit
I am currently giving this bed a five star review despite minor problems with assembly.
SHIPPING:
Very heavy box. Shake the box after pulling out all of the long metal parts to ensure you get all of the small boxes containing the little pieces needed for assembly.
STRENGTH:
The description says the daybed a holds up to 400 pounds. It feels strong and secure to me, though it has only been holding my 129 pounds and my cats 13 pounds supportively and comfortably for about 28 hours now. I may revise my review depending on how it holds up over time under more strain.
APPEARANCE:
It has an attractive design that fits in well with contemporary and antique style rooms. This daybed provides very spacious seating once you put a mattress on it while taking up less space than some other frames for twin mattresses. I like the dull dark brown color because it matches some wooden furniture finishes; I would not have liked it as much if it were shiny.
DAYBED ASSEMBLY:
The instructions were clear and no pieces were missing. This bed would have been easier to assemble with two people. As a young woman living alone, I managed to do it myself in 3 hours. The most difficult part to do on my own was the long backrest piece labeled I. I needed to put the right half of the backrest on a chair while I screwed the left side into the support post on the left. Once I did that, the backrest hung in midair and it was simpler to screw the right side of the backrest into the right post.
The only flaw with assembly seems to be with the rungs sliding into the slots of the frame (see photos). Most of them fit into slots on both sides of the frame and the plastic pieces secure them to ensure they do not move. Unfortunately, one rung on the left and two on the right dont lock into place on both sides (just one side), and the plastic pieces wont fit into those irregular spaces. I scratched up the metal trying to make them fit (see photos). The scratches are not a huge problem since that part of the bed remains covered. The bed still supports me lying on it and doesnt move in spite of this flaw, thus I am not removing a star for it at this time.
TRUNDLE:
I have not assembled the trundle that comes with the daybed, so I cannot speak to its effectiveness. Instead, I got a pop-up trundle from a friend and it fits under this daybed frame perfectly (see photos) and pops up to the exact same height because they are both standard sizes. Others should be able to get a pop-up trundle from another source to fit underneath this daybed if desired.
So far, I am happy and recommend this bed.
We bought this bed for my 6 year old. We purchased it with the trundle. Eventually we will buy a pop up trundle, but this works out great for now. The bed was easy for two men to assemble and its sturdy and does not squeak. I was nervous after reading the reviews about the metal being rough and icky. Its a beautiful bed. The bed frame is not rough, but I can see what reviewers were talking about. My daughters furniture is espresso, and the bed definitely has more of the brown tones than bronze.... but it looks great!!! Im so happy with it!
Its is super, as described the packing came with was excellent. The guide was too good with each step defined perfectly also have a option to adjust the bed height which came as super surprise
I really wanted a sturdy daybed to fit in my space as my permanent bed at night. My beautiful custom built wooden queen wont work where I am.
This bed came promptly, was easy enough for me alone to put together (I havent used the rollout because I use that space as storage - plastic tubs and small boxes fit very nicely below, by the way). It has been incredibly sturdy in all the time I have had it - sitting on it as my most used source of seating, and sleeping on it almost daily.
I have no major complaints. I am sure I could resolve the slight squeak if I investigated which screw is rubbing... but is so small I never felt inclined.
Initially I thought I would lay some plywood over the bars - because they did not look comfortable at all. The mattress I bought (see other review) was not comfortable but it did prevent my need for getting plywood.
The back is prettier than many choices out there (at the time of purchase) I should still invest in some large decorative pillows but have not often found the need. The back and sides are tall enough and sturdy enough to keep pillows as a support when leaning back. It is not against any wall.
I am very happy with this product.
Note that products can change over time and it has been a couple, few years since I purchased this item. But this review is my personal experience.
Absolutely am in love with this frame. I put it together myself along with a little help from my mom. It looks amazing and feels extremely sturdy. No squeaky noises when I sit down or move around . Its perfect.

-1 star = -slight squeak which was really due to slight hole/screw funk
