Colorful and easy to put together, but overstuffed this aint...

I was wanting to love this Alivia Accent chair. The fact that it came mostly-assembled was a step in the right direction. Mine arrived in good shape, with no damage ( saw fit to put the already huge box into an even larger one) and putting it together only requires you to fasten the top to the bottom with 4 screws, some washers and a hex wrench. That aspect of it couldnt have been simpler, and I was glad to not have to spend an hour putting it together. Unfortunately, the reality is that this chair is far, far, far away from being anything close to overstuffed. The finished product basically looks like a scrawny version of the product photos. The seat cushion in particular (what you sit on) just looks very flat and doesnt feel overstuffed or even all that comfortable. I do like the color, the velour material is quite soft to the touch and my girls absolutely love the chair (it would get 5 stars from them), but for me, this isnt entirely what I was expecting from the product photos, and thats generally an issue. Its not a bad chair, and I am glad that I didnt have any problems with its stitching or missing parts, so thats a plus. For the asking price its probably still worth it, so long as youre not expecting anything thats actually overstuffed.

    Functional room deco

Im going to be a little biased since I was a Store Manager for Thomasville Furniture and a General Manager at Pottery Barn for years. By American furniture industry standards, this is far from an overstuffed chair or a premium velvet (its not velvet at all, its velour). That said, its a decent chair at a great price with a couple caveats. The biggest is that the arm frames are actually rounded, so the chair relies on the seams and batting to maintain its piqued profile and that wont last long with regular use. Its also screwed into a pressboard base that will give over time and there isnt much youll be able to do to tighten it once that begins to happen. So why 4 stars? Because its a pretty piece of furniture thats pretty perfect for very occasional sitting - as a guest bedroom chair or in the corner of an office, for example. The velour should be pretty stain-resistant and its comfortable enough for a conversation chair (not one youll curl into for hours with a book, though). And again Ill come back to the price - its so inexpensive that if you think of it as functional room deco its perfectly palatable.

    Pretty chair

I absolutely love the material! So soft and the green color is really vibrant. The pillow is firm and holds you in an upright position. Anyone very big will feel like theyre pushed forward a bit. Without it, youre going to be angled backwards. Dont put the chair too close to a wall because theres a bar in the back that could mark the paint. It was easy to put together--my son did it while I watched. Nice chair.

Nice, Sturdy Chair; Easy To Put Together

I was afraid that the Chair would look cheap or tacky, but it fits right in to my guest room and looks just fine. The chair only requires four screws to attach to the frame, which were included with a small wrench to make the job easy. While it does not look like an extremely expensive item, it is definitely decorative and the accent pillow is a nice touch. Recommended.

    Poppin Fresh

Yes this velvet chair has a fresh new look that really does jazz things up a bit.... And not only does it look great, it feels great to sit in, this chair is VERY comfortable. IMO this chair has alot of potential.... it can be used for doing deskwork, living room lounging/TV watching, reading ..... it would even make for a good video gaming chair. Minor assemby is required..... it takes about 5 minutes at the most to attach the metal frame to the chair with 4 screws using the allen wrench provided. I LOVE this chair.... but it does have a few issues First foremost..... quality control is not 100% yet..... as I found a flaw, a small tear in a corner where the material was streched tight. The flaw is hard to see, so it is not a deal killer for me by any means.... but it is worth noting. Second issue - is that the chair I recieved is a bit different than the one pictured..... The chair pictured shows it having two pillows... yet the one I recieved has one pillow for the back a flat memory foam type cushion to sit on(covered in velvet of course) ... actually, I am happy about this as this is how the chair is SUPPOSED to be.... IMO the chair pictured with two pillows is incorrect likely a mistake. IF it was not for these two minor issues I would rate the Velvet Chair as a solid 5 product.... but it is what it is..... a very nice chair that I am happy with despite the advertising error the manufacturing flaw. 4 Stars

    Super cute chair

Assembly of this chair could not have been easier. My husband got it together in under 10 minutes. It is GORGEOUS. The velvet upholstery is so soft, and this particular shade of green is my favorite! It is just beautiful. Its not a big chair youre going to be cozying up on, but its nice with a movable back cushion and it looks so great! Perfect for any room. I love it.

Needs to come with ALL its parts.

The quality is pretty good, Im just irritated they didnt send the screws needed to put the chair together, now I have to wait longer to do so and not sit on it till then

    Beautiful teal green velvet

I love the teal green velvet fabric and Ive wanted an item this color for a couple of years. That said, there is nothing overstuffed about it, not that I mind that for a more modern look, but it is s light piece that is almost more suitable for a bedroom or dorm. I love it but it probably would look best with airy or streamlined styles like .

Very simple to put together, looks more expensive than it is

I wouldnt exactly call this an overstuffed chair (either that or the maker and I have vastly different views of what overstuffed furniture looks like), but its still quite a nice accessory chair. Personally I thought the seat was kind of hard, but there is a very soft and fluffy pillow (not attached) for your back, so I guess that is the overstuffed part. Assembling the chair was super easy--four bolts, eight washers. I put it together in less than 10 minutes and didnt look at the instructions until after I was done. Ive put together so much kit furniture in the past few years I think I could do it in my sleep. One thing I really liked was that the bolts, washers and the allen wrench were all blister packed on cardboard rather than just being tossed in a bag. It was super easy to see what you had and that everything was there. Great idea. Right now I just have this chair in a corner in my den and Im sure the cats will move into soon enough, but it would make a nice chair for a kids den or a kids bedroom. It looks more expensive that it is and it has a nice rich and bright green fabric that I like. I really cant think of a reason not to give this five stars.
