A great purchase at a great price. It is solid construction. It was not hard to put together (my husband did it mostly on his own - only needing help to hold things as he screwed them together). The kids love it.
The direction could be more clear. It took me about 3 hours to assemble. Only because it had to be reversed from the way it came. Overall this bed is a good value. Solid and well built. I used a 8 foam mattress on the top and it left the top safety rail about 6. Only one broken arm from the kids so far. I consider that an success.
Im very disappointed with the way this was delivered. Two weeks after ordering I received a call requesting to schedule the delivery. I set it up a time frame and was told no one would have to be home and they would just put it in the garage for me. I made sure to make a point of this because I knew Id still be at work when it was delivered. The woman I spoke to reassured me. That was not the case. My Dad happened to be in the area and drove by my house just as the truck arrived. He stopped by to help the delivery guy out. The driver refused to put the package in the house or garage. He said he wasnt allowed to help with it all. The only thing he was supposed to do was leave the package at the end of my driveway at the road. Mind you the entire ground is snow covered. He said the people you talk to on the phone will tell you anything you want to hear because they already have your payment and the delivery drivers obviously dont work for that company. (The truck said RI Carriers.) My dad had to then load it into his truck and take it up the driveway. It came on a pallet. 6 or 7 boxes wrapped tightly together. One of the boxes had 5 holes in it. Thankfully the wood was not damaged.
The bunkbeds were fairly easy to assemble. It took about 2 hours or so. The instructions were clear. It is a nice looking sturdy bunkbed. My girls slept on it for the first time last night and loved it! I also purchased 8 inch memory foam mattresses and they fit perfectly. I wouldve given it 5 stars had it not been for the misleading delivery information.

We bought these for our two sons, 13 and 9, for Christmas. I researched and read reviews for days before I purchased these bunk beds. These beds are beautiful and sturdy. I will agree with some of the reviews that the instructions are not clear, and you have to use common sense to put these together. It took my husband and I about 4 hours to assemble them. It really only took a screwdriver and the included Allen wrench to put it together. It was easy to move the staircase to either end of the bed. The beds will easily convert to two twin beds since you have to put the top bunk together and then lift that bed onto the bottom bunk. It is secured in place by a large dowel and screws at each corner. The drawers are lined up perfectly and slide easily both at the end of the staircase and under the beds. I love the wide staircase rather than a ladder. The steps are plenty big for their feet and they have a place to hold on as they are coming down the steps.
I will update this review if anything comes to light, or if my boys have anything to add.
