Fantastic and Sturdy. Bought this for my daughter to replace her 10 year old bed. She assembled it herself (20 year old college student) and had no problems doing it. It looks better than in the pictures. She is very happy with it and also got her the Memory Foam 12 inch mattress to go along with it. Great value for the money and quite honestly a great investment! Highly recommend.
My mom loves it. Let me start off by saying that I have only had this bed for two weeks! My review might not be as helpful as someone who has had it for a longer period of time, but I thought I would give my opinion anyway! I read, literally, every page of reviews on this bed before I got it, so I knew what to expect if/when things went wrong. Overall, my experience has been great and has great customer service. Now, onto the review:
SETUP:
I am female, 54, and incredibly weak, but even I was able to handle the package just fine. The box is the size of the beds headboard. I was pretty surprised by the size, because I have only ever had a full/size bed before, and I had ordered the King bed frame!
I found it incredibly convenient that everything shipped in the back of the headboard. Although other reviewers here had complained of the parts tearing a hole in the back of the headboard lining, that didnt happen to me, which Im pretty grateful for.
I also found it incredibly convenient that I was able to put the entire thing together, by myself, in 45 minutes using no tools of my own. Ive never built furniture before, EVER. So I was pretty proud of myself! All you need to put together this bed is an Allen wrench which is provided for you. My shipment arrived with no missing parts, and also had extra parts. Quick, easy, and painless! (Honestly though, with the use of a screwdriver, setup time could have gone from 45 mins to 15, but either way, it still didnt take very long.)
MATTRESS:
I had a King Sized Mattress still in its box ready for its home. The unboxing of the mattress went smoothly and it fits perfectly on the bed frame. Some other reviewers complain about the edge of the bed coming up over the edge of the frame, making it lean upward, but luckily for me, my doesnt do that.
GENERAL USE:
As far as the bed moving or making noise during normal use or amorous activities, there is none. This bed is solid. It doesnt move, and doesnt make the horrendous squeaking noise that other reviewers here talk about.
WOODEN SLAT ISSUE:
Im giving this bed 4 stars because, among other reviewers, the bed didnt come with enough wooden support slats. Right now, the wooden slats are spaced very close to 5 apart. For memory foam mattresses it is recommended that the slats are placed no further apart than 3.75, so this was an issue for me. I called up customer support and specifically mentioned I wanted more wooden slats (I audibly said wooden slats more than enough for them to know what I was talking about) due to spacing issues.
Two weeks went by (one week for the order to process, another week for shipping) and then the wrong part showed up at my door yesterday: A support slat, instead of wooden slats (I was told to keep this part. I guess thats convenient because another review here mentioned how that part can buckle over time, so now I have a backup).
I live/chatted with a customer support rep directly on the website today about the situation, again, specifically mentioning my need for WOODEN SLATS, and also requested the transcript to be E/Mailed to me. They rush/processed the order and shipped it out this morning. I mentioned the problem about other people also coming up short in the wooden slats department, and mentioned that many (if not all) memory foam mattress retailers strongly recommend the 3.75 spacing, and the customer service rep told me that they are working to change the number of wooden slats that get shipped with the orders since they only just found out about that recommendation/rule. If they actually do this, then thats pretty smart of them. The live chat was very quick as far as me addressing my issue and the rep sending out my order. If I would have gotten the correct part the first time, I probably still would have given this bed frame 5/stars because, for the money (I paid about 280 for it during an sale), this is probably one of the nicest looking bed frames I could find, and it looks aming in my bedroom!
Easy to set up. Aming product, very well done. I had just a hard time while assembling the 4 side panels. They look exactly the same in the box, but actually two are slightly longer. They go the feet side, while the shorter go the pillow side (this is not written in the instructions). Last of these pieces is tough to fit, I had to loose some screws to make in enter. But then everything became sturdier than ever.
I love this! Everything is soooo easy to assemble. It comes packed in the headboard that has a fabric zipper on the back. Very nice for those who move around a lot. The assembly was made for me. I could easy put it all together. The bolts that you use to lock the frame together are sturdy and not prone to stripping. Really simple design that fits my King/sized mattress like a glove without any extra space around the mattress. I couldnt be happier with this inexpensive, well/built bed.
Good product! Exactly as advertised. Bed is beautiful and well crafted. Assembly was as easy as furniture but seems sturdier. Great price and a great product!
