We put the top bunk together first. It was missing one of the main screw holes. We had to improvise and drill our own. It wasnt such a big deal, just a bit annoying. The bed is very sturdy. Opened the middle bunk and it had NO SCREWS! Opened the bottom bunk thinking well just do that one first. NO FREAKING SCREWS! So now we have two kids without beds. What a mess. How does this happen? No quality control.
My parts weren't numbered, or I guess lettered..(some were lettered) I didn't get all my bolts. I needed more of longer bolts they provided me with less than I was supposed to have. I had to go purchase some. The instructions really wasn't clear... But we eventually figured it out by looking at the pictures given on the instructions.. but when finished it was worth it! Took me 4 hours to put together most of it was trying to figure out which bolt I needed as they are not labeled as well.. but my kids do love it..
My wife and I assembled it in 3 hours. What made it easy was using a drill with a hex bit. If we didn't use the drill, it would've added another 60-90 minutes to assemble. We only had 1 bolt give us an issue. Other than that, we're glad we bought this metal bunk bed instead of the wood one. It's really solid and we're not afraid of it falling down during an earthquake. We also used 3 8 mattresses with it. It still has plenty of space of the side rails for our boys from rolling off. It's worth every penny.
Just completed the assembly of two units. I have several complaints. One of the connection tubes (Part U) was welded incorrectly in such a way as to make it unusable; I was able to 'adjust' it with a hammer and chisel without too much trouble, fortunately. The bed frames (Part R) had several sharp edges at weld spots that had to be filed down to avoid catching/ripping the bed sheets. The filing marred the finish, of course, but it won't show. My other complaint is regarding the ladder up to the top bunk: the rungs are not evenly spaced and lie immediately over the middle guardrails, so it's impossible to know what you are stepping on and easy to miss your footing. Seems to me like an accident waiting to happen. We haven't used the bunks yet, but otherwise seems like a good product.
Buy this one. My eldest is almost 11 and a bit heavy.. I don't worry about him up top. This thing is STURDY. Took my husband about 2 - 2 1/2 hours to build, he is very mechanically inclined though. Have 3 kids in one small room, this solved our problems. Also got my 2 year old out of my bed because she was stuck cosleeping in my bed with me since birth! I tried every bed imaginable to get her out but she wouldn't budge until now since she has her own bed in with her brothers. Been smooth sailing since night 1.
This bed is soo worth the money! It is EXTREMELY sturdy, meaning my husband who is almost 200lbs was able to get on the top bunk with minimal buckling and shaking! It took awhile to put it all together, about 5hrs with one person, so make sure you free up your day. That being said, it's best to build it from the bottom to the top. The instructions have you start from the top to the bottom, which I did not figure out until after the whole top bunk was assembled, uuggghh. That would have to be my only complaint! I am very very happy with this purchase and definitely recommend it!
Great structure. Sturdiest 3-tier bunkbed I could find, and I looked at many. The look is awesome.
My only complaint is that nowhere on the online listing does it mention that the mattresses must not exceed 6 thickness (or if it does, its definitely not easy to find). It wasn't until I started setting them up that I noticed the warning. It was frustrating because I had purchased high-quality, thicker twin mattresses beforehand. They wouldn't work and I couldn't return them.
Just a word of warning. But overall great product. Would buy again!

Useless bed. No screws.

Mattress size matters - a lot - but great bunkbeds

Two Stars
Missing items to build the bunk bed. Requested these connector items and never got an answer.
