Per my husband who assembled it ... the directions were not very clear send he and a buddy ended up winging it halfway through. They are decently handy so they could figure it out. But from my point if view it's super cute for my toddler who we are trying to transition into her own bed. I'm not worried about her falling out if it. It is a twin bed size/mattess fyi.
Listen to the reviews that say the instructions/assembly are difficult! It took us two days to build this due to following the instructions. Things were mislabeled and pictures did not match up. It was really frustrating. Also, there are some dents and scratches in the wood but we painted over them and you cant even tell. Regardless, after we got it together it is so pretty and we love it! I would still suggest it even with the flaws.
We love our daughters bed frame. We get so many compliments on it and it adds so much whimsy to the room. I love the picket fencing and it helps keep her from rolling out of the bed.
The only issue is that the front beam arrived cracked and it is a prime spot for a kiddo to want to hang and swing from, so I need to figure out how to contact the manufacturer for a replacement.
Nice bed but very difficult to assemble. The holes are pre cut but not pre threaded. So if you use your hands it will take a decade. Need a power drill for it. And def 2 people. And even with the pier drill it will take some time because they aren't pre threaded.

This is a beautiful bed, and my kid loves it so far. It is a bit difficult to put together as other people have stated. We had 2 people work on it and had a ratchet with an Allen wrench attachment which was a huge help. I can see this taking a very long time just using the included wrench. Be sure to really read through the instructions carefully, and study the pictures included - looking ahead can also be helpful. In the end it took us just under 2 hours and it's looking good!
First off this bed is gorgeous and I am so glad I didnt let other reviews deter me from purchasing for my daughter! Like other reviews stated, the directions do suck and screws and such werent labeled. But my husband was able to put it together by himself with a little trial and error. He did NOT have any issues with holes lining up once he got it all figured out just by comparing pieces to the photo on the box (chimney and open access go on same side). We bought this as my almost 2 year olds first big girl bed. It is fairly sturdy, but if you have bigger kids that are going to want to climb and hang on it i wouldnt necessarily recommend. But for the price point and for a first big girl bed you cant beat it!
