It took me 20 min and the help of a 3 yr old to put this bed together. Basically anyone can do it! For the price, its nice and sturdy. I will warn you that if you have a standard twin, its essentially flush with the back bar removing the day bed look. For us, it works perfect as I purchased this bed in attempt to keep my 3yr old from putting his body/feet on the wall next to his bed (light colored walls get discolored from this and I am over scrubbing them frequently) and there is just enough of a lip on the back to help with that!

It was a little bigger than the twin bed but not much.added more pillows to compensate.
