I dont ever write reviews, but being that I myself look at reviews before purchasing anything I felt it was a must. The bed itself on a scale from 0 /5 with zero being IKEA quality and sturdiness and 5 being a 600 bunk bed at Costco this bed is rated at a 5! The Wood is solid not compressed, nice look, good distance from bottom bunk to top bunk, easy to assemble and you cant beat the price!
Good Luck
If you need a nice and sturdy bunk bed thats inexpensive this is for you. But get someone to help you, a bottle of nice wine and some snacks, and set aside an evening to assemble it. The wine will steady your nerves when you see how many pieces there are to assemble. But take your time; everything is labeled and you can do it. Or skip it and spend an extra 500/700 bucks and buy one of a similar quality that is fully assembled.
Bought this bunk bed for my youngest daughter because she has always wanted one. I thought I would be getting some cheap particle board like Ikea. This bed is solid wood and sturdy! The poor UPS man could barely move the box because it was so heavy! There are a lot of pieces to put together, but it is easier to assemble than Ikea furniture. We love it and (most importantly) she does too!
I bought this for my 2 and (almost) 5 year old. I know the recommendation is for 6+ on the top bunk but we didnt have the space for a twin and a toddler bed. This bed is perfect at their ages. The top isnt so high that I worry about my older son and the bottom is nice and low for my toddler. We put a crib mattress next to it just in case either of them rolled out but 2 weeks in and theyre both doing great.
It was easy enough for my 13 year old son and I to build in an afternoon and I have mobility problems so thats saying something!
I also love that I can grab on to it to get off the floor and it doesnt even move or creak so its easy to sneak out when theyre asleep
Another feature I wouldnt have thought about previously is that the slats are vertical. My older kids had beds that had horizontal slats and they all broke over time with kids jumping and climbing on them. These seem like theyll be stronger.

Fits our needs
Good fit for elementary age kids, and it fits in their bedroom without blocking the windows.

The item came with a lot of scratches and actually cracked in one place. Very disappointed
