This is great! I didnt want it on the castors so I bought wooden furniture legs and they fit perfect in the predrilled holes. Absolutely awesome piece and it is perfect in my kitchen.
Super easy to assemble IF you follow the instructions. I first sorted all pieces and used a muffin tin to hold the small bags of screws, bolts etc. It probably took me 3 1/2 hrs to assemble by myself. At 69 Im not as flexible as I used to be but very happy with this island.
It took the two of us at least 2 hours to put it together, and it was a challenge, but it does look nice when complete. I havent actually used it yet, so cant speak to how it will function or its durability but the wheels dont roll as well as I would like and the locks are difficult to use. It does have good storage space and is very pretty. Pretty ingenious locking devices seem to make it come together pretty well hopefully, we will see if it holds up well. I like the area for spices and the towel holder. Its pretty good size for prep and with the leaf down, stores pretty easily.
It says it requires two people to assemble but I was able to do it on my own. The instructions were accurate. I love this island and get lots of compliments on it. The only negative is the drop/down leaf isnt very sturdy. I have to keep reminding guests to not lean on it. Its already sagging after only a couple of months. I think Im going to find a way reinforce it even though that will make it permanently upright. It would have been better if the table top just came as one piece instead of the flimsy drop/down.
