I was hesitant on purchasing this bed due to some of the reviews but me and my 13 yr old put the bed together in under an hour, as long as you don't tighten all the screws before getting it all together its not as hard as some other reviews made it seem. The bed is sturdy but lightweight which is perfect for my teenagers room.
This bed frame is about what I expected. Flat pack, mass produced type furniture put together using only the included fasteners and allen wrench. After a couple nights of use it seems to be very sturdy and without squeaks or other noises.
For me a 5 star item is something that exceeds expectations and that's why I gave it a 4 overall. This isn't heirloom furniture that is going to be passed down to the next generation but it was also inexpensive and does the job it was designed to do. I feel like it deserves a 4.5 and I could see myself revisiting this review in a couple months and just going ahead and bumping it up to 5 (barring any squeaks or other issues arising).
It's everything they say it is - heavy metal bed frame with no give, no squeek, no movement across the floor. Tubular head and foot boards lessen the chance of restraint injury, combined with a 12 mattress the frame height makes getting in and out of bed EZ. The mid-frame support can be a toe jammer - I lit the bottom of the frame with LEDs so I can see it at night. Highly recommend it.
My son loves the bed! Its perfect since he loves to horseplay before bed and it has storage room underneath. Took us 2 hours to put together and its heavy. Glad I purchased!
The task of assembling is easy with two people. It took me an hour to put together, this including me carrying it from downstairs to upstairs and prepping the space for assembly. Directions had clear what to do labels and instructions. When fully assembled it was sturdy and absolutely beautiful. My son is not east to please and even he loved it. Im so glad I purchased this bed.
First, I want to address several of the LowStar reviews. The product I received, was high quality and very sturdy.
We purchased two queen size versions of these beds. Mainly because I am a large person, not fat just big well over 6 ft, and muscular and close to 300 lb. My wife is also over 6 ft. We wanted to make sure that it was handle us, and the occasional 150 lb dog that might jump up on the bed with us
Things to know:
There was rubber spacers to prevent squeaking, and the instructions for what there was, were accurate.
So the good parts are, very sturdy, worth the money, not too hard to put together.
Now the hard part, they left out a lot of the little things you need to know to put it together without frustration.
First, make sure you do complete the headboard first. It can be tightened down completely.
With the sidebars, you must leave the central screws on the tee support loose. If you don't, you're going to have an impossible time getting the slats in.
Once the sidebars, and central bar are assembled, attach the sidebars to the footboard Believe the screws a little loose. Then attach the headboard, and leave the screws a little loose.
There are two cross bars at the foot and head of the bed. Make sure you get them right, and that the central bar is in the correct orientation.
There are little rubber guides in the sidebars for the slats. I bought two beds, and on one of them I had to use two spare guides. As two were broken. That had to have happened in the factory. But they do ship with four spare ones.
As you put each of the slats in, make sure it's in both holes on both sides, then put the rubber plugs in to hold them in place.
Once all the slats are in, and hooked correctly. It doesn't explain this in the instructions you'll have to look at it and see how it goes together. It's not that hard. Just be patient.
Once all of that is done, then tighten down all the Allen screws.
Tighten them, don't break them. They're very solid, but I could see someone just trying to crank them all the way down because there's no lock washers.
The first bed took me about 2 and 1/2 hours, going step by step and then figuring out all the little steps they left out.
The second bed took me an hour and 10 minutes including unpacking and cleanup.
They are very solid. They are a good value for the money. And unless there's been some major design changes, the only issue with putting it together, would be for those who are impatient, or completely mechanically unskilled.
Its amazing. I love it. Super sturdy! Only issue is that it does sit low with just the mattress so I did put my old box spring and now its perfect. Does look a little weird with the box spring but I also put a bed skirt to cover it and its fine! I love you so recommend.

We love it
Sturdy, easy to assemble, fairly priced. We bought a queen size for my son's room. No box spring needed. Happy customer!
Be patient and think it through, and it assembles easily.
