Definitely worth the price. Looks of high quality from a distance. Up close you can tel its not real wood, BUT its not an issue at all. It is sturdy and doesnt make noise when you are getting on. However, if if plan to sit up on the head board to watch tv you may hear subtle creeks. Other than that, this is definitely worth the money. This doesnt get of five for the two reasons above. But again price price price. Its affordable and great for the price.
As others have said, this is not difficult to assemble, and I did it by myself and Im a 50 year/old female. It does take some time. Its excellent advice to leave all the screws loose until youre all done, or there is difficulty getting things together. Its very sturdy and solid, and good looking too.
A year later, it makes a lot more noise than I expected. Not sure how to correct that. Tighten things, lubricate things No idea.
I purchased this bed at the end of last month and it was a great value for the price, although I was led to believe that the color was different because of how it was described. I see that its now updated so the description is more accurate. The wooden parts of the head and footboard were much darker than the picture (it was a light brown finish in the photo), and the metal was black (which was not mentioned when I ordered it) so I was a bit disappointed. Instead of sending it back, I decided to keep it and fashion it to my liking. Ive since painted and refinished it and now it looks more like what I envisioned it to be.
The bed is very sturdy, although it took me over 3 hours to assemble by myself since the instructions were not very clear. Several times I had to remove parts and reassemble them. I guess they anticipated that since they tell you in the instructions NOT to tighten any of the screws until you are completely done. Also, two of the support legs were missing in my shipment so I had to notify the manufacturer. They took a while to arrive, but they did send me the missing parts and I immediately attached them. The bed does not move or squeak when youre in it, so thats a plus. I plan on getting a bunkie board soon to place on top of the mattress support beams because I noticed that they leave a deep imprint on the bottom of the mattress I have (its one of the memory foam mattresses that ship in a box). I figure the board would increase the life of the mattress by doing so. Overall, a good purchase, one Im satisfied with.
