Reasonably easy to build. I read several other reviews before purchase and agree on a few points. 1. A allan key drill bit and a drill gun will save you some blisters and an extra hour of work. I powered through with the tools provided but sorely missed being able to use my power tools. Perhaps the company could provide one? 2. Some complained about the quality of the paint finish. Ours is white but I can see a little bit of the wood grain where the paint is thinner. Its not an issue in white but I can see how this would be an issue for the grey or other darker finishes so be advised. The white is easy to scuff too so if I had more time and patience, I would have coated with polycrylic spray.
*I had one board that has a 2-3 inches gash that was painted over but decided to keep as is because that board was wall facing.
what I can say, I ordered an espresso colored one, but received a white one. I need it in a rush, so have no time to deal with the color. The bed itself looks fine, hopefully can last long too.
Great bunk for a really low price! Assembly and directions were very clear and easy and we love that this is solid wood. The vertical ladder saves a lot of space. There were some pieces with a gauge or scrape here and there but I assumed this would be the case for pretty inexpensive bunk. We were able to hide them against the wall for the most part. Note that you will definitely notice the bolts in the bed, they are not sunken nor capped and although we ordered white, the bed is more of an ivory color (it matches our “ivory” blankets more closely then our other white furniture). It seems to be thin layers of white paint over the light yellow wood, so I think that’s why it’s not a pure white. We don’t mind at all- it’s beautiful and very functional! Lots of room for under bed storage too!
I was impressed with the quality of the wood (especially at this price), it’s solid and came together well for a nice and sturdy bed. Several pieces did have nicks in the wood, nothing major enough to warrant the hassle of getting replacement parts but enough to knock a star off my review because it wasn’t just one or two nicks but quite a few on multiple pieces. If the bed had been unmarked, this would be a 5 star set.
Assembly was a breeze with our electric drill, if you have one, this is the time to break it out. Definitely doable without power tools but some of the hardware is long so it saves a lot of time. I wish the slats had been longer, a few of them were just barely long enough for the screws to go through to the rails underneath.
We purchased this item for our daughters but assembled only one of the beds for our 3.5 year old to use and intend to bunk them down the road when our younger is ready for a twin bed so cannot speak to how these turn out bunked.

I was surprised by the quality of this bed. ...
I was surprised by the quality of this bed. Yes, its light duty, but its for kids, not adults. Overall this bed has exceeded expectations.
Good quality for the price
Good quality for the price. It looks nice. The wood cracked a bit when my husband put the ladder on.
