My husband assembled it together mainly by himself with some of my help every now and then. They are nicer and sturdier than we though. We have them unbunked until our children (4 and 2 year old are older) are older and they look so nice either way!!
The bed is a great product, honestly. The one I received had each piece marked perfectly although had to do a little hunting for the legs as the markings were on the bottom where as the rest had been stickered. It was all there though; thankful for that.
Hardware was all there, too. Overall, it took me about 5 hours in total (I did it alone but would have been easier w/ 2 people). The hex tool they provide is fine but I would get your own Allen wrench. I really loved that the holes were lined perfect and pre/drilled. Directions made sense.
My 3.5 year old is a very happy kiddo!
The bunk bed purchase was out of desperation, so I just decided to bite the bullet and get it. Its bigger than I expected, the full sleeps myself and my 7yr old. I read the reviews and was very nervous about it not holding our weigh, but after comfortably sleeping on it, I have to disagree with the others. Or it maybe the mattress that I chose to use with it. Either way I am happy I bought it. My husband surprised me by putting it together himself, it was not easy he lost his temper a couple of times but all in all he got it done by himself. I helped him stacked the beds.
Easy to assemble, durable and sturdy! The complaints from others are mostly just due to the fact that this is real wood (which has knots) not cracking in the wood. This is a great quality bed and has worked great for the month or two weve had it now. Its perfect for my 7 year old!
The only thing I would change is that we had to reinforce the bottom of each mattress because the mattress we got (memory foam) goes through the slats if you put any pressure in one spot (learning on it to make the bed, stepping on the bottom bunk to make the top bunk, etc.)
Assembly was pretty easy. It took about 2 1/2 hours to assemble. The slats on the headboard and footboard slide into place better if you do it upside down fyi.
We bought this for our sons Christmas present so we had to assemble it Christmas Eve while he was with his Memaw and Papa in order to surprise him. I was irritated after unboxing it to find that key pieces were broken and hardware missing. Not something you really want to come across when you are trying to surprise a child and have time restraints. The top of the headboard and footboard for the lower bunk was assembled (thats how it comes it appears) which isnt wise considering the wooden dowels were broken off on both the headboard and footboard units, there was a huge chunk missing out of the foot board and around some of the holes were cut poorly. We had to drill out the broken dowels and go buy new dowels, then not all the hardware was there, so luckily we do a lot of building and home improvements so we had some extras on hand. Where a chunk was missing on the footboard is where a dowel is to be for stability and sturdiness so we had to fix that as well. I was definitely disappointed in the quality control of this. I didnt rate it lower because we were able to fix most of it ourselvesand had pieces not been broken off it would have been an easy assembly. It did take us about 3 1/2 hours from start to finish due to the repairs we had to make. What matters most is that our son loves it and I think overall its a good product for the price point. Just be aware that there may be broken pieces and/or missing hardware that you may need to account for.
1 box shipping. Not easy to get it upstairs solo.
Assembly took 2 people about 3 hours. Was very helpful to have the 2nd person, but not essential. Never felt like the instructions were incomplete or unclear.
Only 4 thick dowl roads attach the beds, but it is sturdy. Had no visible defects/damage, and its a huge space saver. The lader has wide rungs which make going up and down easier on feet in the middle of the night. There is so a good amount of storage space underneath the full bed.
Only drawback in my book is that Youll need sheets of plywood for the top bunk if you dont have a thin box spring.

Great looking and seems sturdy but broken and missing pieces
