Great bed. My 11 year old son loves it. My only suggestion is to have extra bolts/screws. We did have just enough, but one did get damaged and it would have been nice to have an extra. It was fairly easy to assemble and is very sturdy.
I have had this for about a year and a half. my boys are currently 4 and 6 and normal size kids. this bed does not hold together well. the screws come loose and the welded points for the top railing are weak and break loose easy. the ladder screws fell out and one broke off. this bed shimmys and squeaks. But I guess you get what you pay for. I am now looking for a more sturdy bunk bed to last longer.
I built this myself in about two hours. To be fair, this is my second one of these. The first one was so good and worked so well for our family that we decided that another one would be a good idea. The overall quality is quite good and the comfort and stability are also very good. Do make sure that you anchor the bed to the wall with the included hardware for optimum stability and safety.
We find that the versatility of the Futon / Bunk Bed really works for us. Each kid can have a twin bed and a sofa in their bedroom. They seem to enjoy that a great deal. When they need it, they have an extra bed for sleep overs, etc.
I just cant see anyone being disappointed with these beds. Just make sure that you find good mattresses for the twin on top and the futon on the bottom and youll be very happy with this bed. and Wal/Mart offer awesome compressed mattress in a box options that can be shipped to your home very quickly () super fast or picked up in your local store (Wal/Mart) if you just cant wait two days.

LO This was interesting to put togetherFYI, dont bother trying to do it alone. All in all it was very simple to put together. But, we did have some issues with tightening which it doesnt tell you until the next direction that you were supposed to leave it loose. Basicallly, read all the instructions through maybe twice and then read one more time this time every word.lol. Then start assembling. like I said it was a simple multi part design but half way through what started as a two man job working 50/50 turned into a 3 man job working one area at a time. Its a lil squeaky when my 7 year old moves around slightly on the top, so if that drives you nuts, dont waste your time. Otherwise, we are happy and our girls enjoy it. Oh and we used their previous full size bed mattress on the bottom and it fit great. Wait, one thing that sucks though is the ladders. Now I appreciate them being on both sides but once you get to the top theres no opening. My daughter still has to climb over the railing. She can do that from the front, although she doesnt. That is al

So Good We Picked Up Another / Great Versatile Bunk Bed / Futon

Got exactly what I paid for. Easy to put together and easy to work with. Still metal poles, and yes they bite if you are not careful.
