The umbrella looks sturdy enough for the ever/changing Texas weather. I have had it for a couple of weeks and has worked perfectly, it even survived a fly over my backyard in a sudden storm.
We set it up yesterday and it worked great until it rained. It is definitely water RESISTANT and not waterproof. That said, even in a steady rain we didnt get soaked. There was definite water mist coming through the fabric though, and we ended up running inside.
I feel somewhat mislead by the product description, which does say waterproof in a couple of places, and water resistant in others. This will suffice but I bought it thinking that it would be waterproof. Its not worth the trouble of sending back unfortunately.
The vent at the top of the pole did not seem to be venting so it remains to be seen how well it will handle breezes. I have it in a 50lb wide/footprint water/filled base, and it is also clamped to our largish rectangular table. It didnt move in moderate breezes but I never saw the vent lift which concerns me.
Other than that, it feels well/built. The crank and ratchet mechanism feels solid. We have not tried the tilt (and probably wont need it). The pole looks well/made but does not strike me as super strong; it appears to be thin/walled aluminum tube. The umbrella doesnt weigh much though and its probably fine unless it gets flipped or sent flying.
The longish box arrived intact and setup was easy. We got the Chili color and I like it; its sort of a burnt orange.
I wish there was a cover to put over it when folded to protect it when not in use. Since it only has an 800 hour sun fading warranty, and also to protect its water resistance such as it is, Ill probably need to take it down and store it when not in use which is not convenient.

Well made but it is NOT waterproof. In any moderate rain a constant mist comes thru the fabric wetting anything and anyone below it. Advert specifically says waterproof. This is a huge disappointment because we often sat out under our old one during the rain and bought this 10 for that very reason. May try a waterproofing spray, but dont have much hope.
