Currently new to grinding my own coffee, and this fits the bill without being to expensive. Only complaint is that the volume of beans it can handle at time is a little small if youre making a pot for a few people. (Two batches vs One batch)
Im from Colombia and I used to have an electric blade grinder until I read it was much better to use a ceramic grinder. This one is great because it not only crushes the beans which liberates the oils inside but the grind is completely uniform.
Works great and has different grind settings, The small cup works great for grinding the amount for my Keurig single cup brewer and the larger is just the right volume for making a pot.
Ive been buying whole beans lately without having a grinder, and I didnt really want to invest 40 into a fancy grinder, so this was the next best thing.
It is REALLY loud. Like I can hear my husband from the street when hes inside the house grinding beans, albeit the windows are usually open. Sometimes he wakes up before me and I hear him using this, and forget this is what hes doing and Im thinking WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING? and remember hes grinding beans.
So its loud, but you know what? It gets the job done for a fraction of the price!
It is OK for a manual grinder. I just find it grinding a bit too slow since I like it really fine. But the result is still nice. Just I may not use it as much since its too much work. What a pity
I can grind enough coffee for two cups in about 30 seconds. One reason why I bought this instead of an electric burr grinder is that its a pain to clean the electric grinders. I can run water through this one, making it easy to clean. My only complaint is that the design makes it a little difficult to grasp the body of the grinder and hold it well while turning the handle. I have average size hands, so your mileage may vary.

This little guy works great for me. Im glad its a little thick / its easier to hold than a thin one.
