This arrived for my father this afternoon. Very simple to put together. Just took it for its first test run and was really impressed(and surprised) how it could actually get up our driveway. He has his freedom back, no longer confined to being close to the house.
The drive lock and release lever was very easy to find, not sure if this is due to others saying it was easy to miss this step.
I have priced similar scooters and only found close to 1000. I worried the price was too great however, it is an aming scooter. Battery lasts much longer than I would use it / I cant imagine running it to empty. It is comfortable, not too hard to assemble, and none of the pieces are too heavy. I am so happy with it, now I can do zoos, amusement parks, etc with my children. I did check before I purchased and there is a great local company that services this brand if ever needed. Their prices to buy were too high. This may be an economy model but it doesnt look like one, ride like one, or operate like one. I am so happy.
It is exactly what I needed, quiet, long drive times, and good speed that is variable with a knob or how far you push the lever. The turn radius was terrible upon initial setup out of the box. After a week of use, I have found a steering lock on the front just below the tiller adjustment knob. You have to pull it out and turn counterclockwise to let the wheels turn further. (Not recommended for unstable people). It is item 7 on page 14 of the owners manual. Now I love this thing. It is a bit difficult to break down and assemble after a stroke but would not be too bad with 2 hands.
I have only used this mobility scooter once, so far, but am very pleased with it. Especially for the price we paid (599). It was easy for my husband to assemble and it does separate easily into sections that are transportable. The scooter was easy to navigate (although the turn radius is large / you must allow some space to make a turn around). The speed adjustment is very good and the battery was only diminished by two light dots after using it for 2 hours at a hilly location. We plan to take it when we travel and hope that the varying airports and airlines we use will allow me to ride it to the gate area.
I was hesitant about buying something I havent tried. But, I like it a lot. I assembled it in about 15 minutes and took it for a test ride. The only thing I dont like is the turning radius. You couldnt use it in the house. I use it to walk the dog and it works just fine.
Its very easy to use. The battery holds a charge for a very long time. I like the variable speed control as well. Travels easily on different terrains. Just wish it had s shorter wheel turn base.
